Hi! It’s me again, so I don’t have YouTube, Twitch, etc because I’m not allowed to, when I make runs, I take them with my phone camera. When I try to post it, it won’t let me do it because it needs a link. I tried adding it in as a photo in this type of text box but it did not show since it was a video. Can someone tell me how to get around this issue or can the devs please add an option to post vids from the camera(photos app)?
you need to upload your videos elsewhere. speedrun.com is not a video hosting website.
also very unlikely that only a photo will be accepted as proof for your speedrun.

Not aware of any platforms that don't require you to make some sort of account. Certainly none that I would trust.
Seems your options are to just make a YouTube account anyway, or just, don't upload your runs. Not much more to it than that
You're allowed to create a Speedrun.com account but aren't allow to create an account on any other platform like Google? I've seen a few other people who also aren't allowed to have a Google account for some reason lol.
You could upload to a file hosting website like MediaFire or Mega? Or try and find a different free video or file hosting website through Google.
The platforms that embed on the site, rather than appear as a plain link, are: Bilibili, Niconico, Twitch, YouTube, Rutube, TikTok, and any URL ending in ".mp4" or ".webm".
But YouTube is still the preferred platform. As most moderator retiming tools work the best on YouTube.
If it's just an issue of parents not wanting you to have a YouTube account or something at this point, you can always talk to them about the situation with your hobby needing video submissions and try to make a compromise where you can have a YouTube where the speedrun videos are put as 'Unlisted', this way they're still able to be submitted and viewable to the mods and anyone looking at the leaderboards without being publicly available to find on YouTube itself.
Yea well thanks guys ill probably look into the other sites you said but um yeah my mom won’t let me have YouTube until my end of the house is clean and I show “responsibility” which I don’t know her definition of since I’ve been showing a lot of it for a while. Thnx for telling me tho.
Actually the first run I might do is Ruby Sapphire or Emerald since any switch I touch shows this error in like the first few days of touch now: (this image was deleted and replaced with a new one further in this chat session)
Also just to clarify I never said I did this account with my parents because I didn’t know about chat. YouTube is a different story as my parents have that platform and if they see a video of mine then I’d be in a lot of trouble.

Edit the post and remove the image.
But internally, you're only removing a URL from your post. Meaning the image can still be accessed with the direct URL.
So message starsmiley or Meta and ask them to delete the image through their admin panel - as they can do this. And under data protection laws, you're allowed to request for your data beign deleted.
It's kind of stupid you have to ask site staff to do this for you.
But tbh, if you edit it out of your post, I don't think anyone will access the URL and view it again.
