OBS way too low fameate

so I have been recording games using OBS, and either the game has low framerate, or the video itself has low framerate, regardless of how well it was running before. Is there a solution/alternative recording software I could use?

In the "Video" settings in OBS, you can set the resolution of the canvas and the output video, and also set the framerate of the video. Usually you want to set it to 30 or 60, based on the recorded game.

In the "Output" settings, under "streaming", you can set the bitrate of the video (in kbps). A higher number will result in a better quality but much more bigger file, while a lower number will result in low quality, and sometimes make the video "choppy", I think. You can experiment with that for what works for you, I usually set it to something in the range of 2000-3000.

(By the way, this setting does not relate just to streaming, it will work on recorded videos as well)
