Flash game platform

Now that running flash in browser is difficult, I've started to rip web-based flash games to play in a standalone flash player. What platform would this be considered, for games that were released on multiple platforms? Would "web (emulator)" be correct, since I'm playing the web version but not in browser? Or would it just be considered the web version?

The game I'm currently looking at has no active moderator/runners (most recent log in from either player was September), so I'd just like to know what others think.

There's no one way to represent this; ideally there might be a Flash platform but we don't have one. You could use Web (Emu), just Web (in place of the word Flash), or PC (if you were playing on a PC). I personally use the last method on the games I moderate—though I don't currently mark things with emulator, I would mark emulated flash (i.e. using Ruffle, not the official flash players) as emulated.

Actually, now that I've checked, the moderator banned emulators for the game. So I guess web & PC are my only choices... Well, I've submitted it as PC for now, so it's time to wait and see if the moderator actually comes back or if it'll be up to me going forward.

Just to give some context, for both Karoshi Suicide Salaryman and Super Karoshi I did runs on Bluemaxima Flashpoint and in both cases I sent it as "PC", which I feel comfortable with.

To be honest, unless your rips or your standalone player actually play differently to the original web version, I see no reason to disallow it. As time goes on, unless we accept these new alternatives, a lot of these flash speedgames are just gonna be inaccesible for new runners.
