when routing or figuring games out the first time its great to just set goals to find useful things. or to optimise segments. Later when you are at a point where you dont see many new possibilities you can set time goals again.

Generally when routing stuff, you want to tackle one section at a time, so try to get that section under xx amount of time is generally what I try to do.
