I just did a recording and I'm going to upload the run to YouTube. My question is if I submit my run here am I aloud to have my youtube intro in the video? or does it have to be just the RAW SpeedRun itself?
Only asking so I don't get banned or something like that for having an edit at the start of the video.
Thanks!
Awesome I was just making sure because I didn't know if it would constitute as an edit in the run
It won't get you banned (why is that such a common fear, almost nothing will get you banned, and the stuff that will should be REALLY obvious), but it might not make you a ton of friends either, especially if it's the same and at the front of a lot of submissions. Mods may well timestamp your submission video to the point where the run actually begins.
@EmeraldAly It's not that uncommon to come across runs where the verifier is identified as "deleted user". Since "deleted user" is typically synonymous with "banned user" on other places around the web, a new user doesn't have to stumble across too many deleted moderators before getting the impression that mods regularly get banned. And if mods get banned on a regular basis, how easily must regular users get banned?
It takes a while to learn that game mods don't have the same level of elevation above non-mods as exists on most other sites, and that users here seem to voluntarily delete their accounts at higher rates than elsewhere (for reasons not clear to me). Also, there's no immediate link to the rules anywhere on the main page of the site—no pinned forum thread or anything—so bear in mind that a typical user hasn't seen them.
I've yet to see a deleted user on a leaderboard. I only see them in the forums.
I said you can find runs "verified by" a deleted user, not runs by a deleted user. So far as I can tell, deleted/banned users typically have their runs removed, though there are exceptions (e.g. co-ops where one user was deleted). But I could be wrong about that.
When a mod chooses to delete their account, any runs they've approved stay up without issue. I know this firsthand, which is why it no longer unnerves me when I stumble across other runs verified by a dead account. https://www.speedrun.com/foxbot/run/m3go26gz

I feel like you have to make an awful lot of assumptions to come to this conclusion. But yeah if it's not clear to anyone, "Deleted user" does not mean "banned user".

I don't think this is true, it's just more evident here since users who delete their account still have their impact on the site felt unless they explicitly delete everything and were never a moderator. Whereas if you delete, say, your Twitch account, nobody would ever know you existed.

They are linked on the "About" page. We are working on increasing the visibility on these though (that said most if not all of the site rules fall under common sense and shouldn't really be that surprising to anyone).

Not necessarily. When you delete your account you have the option to delete all your forum posts and all your runs. For banned users it depends on why exactly they were banned and whether game moderators want to continue tracking their runs.
