I’m glad to be here and I am a completion speed runner, and although I am a speed runner, I believe that it is much more important to appreciate any game in its entirety before you speedrun it. However, I don’t have any great times to back that up. I’m just a casual but hey, I’m just here to have fun.

I definetely agree with that sentiment. Once you start speedrunning a game, your whole experience while playing changes quite a bit, and going back to "casual play" can be really hard to achieve. That's not to say you shouldn't speedrun games you like, but you just have to make really sure you got everything you wanted out of the casual playthroughs before attempting runs.
