I'm new here and I would like to get into speedrunning eventually

does anyone have any advice as to how I should chose a game and how to learn how to speedrun said game?

Choose a game that you currently enjoy playing.

I mean yeah I'm definitely going to pick a game I like but I don't want to pick a game I like TOO much and I also want to try to find a relatively short one

If you give some more specifics, such as preferences for approximate length of run, genre, platform, etc. then we could provide more relevant recommendations.

Pick whatever you want. If length is an issue you can also try speedrunning individual levels or doing runs of shorter categories of the game you want. You should try to learn the speedrun watching the guides before watching the world record and read the rules before submitting

@Pear preferably under an hour but I'm willing to go longer. I'd also prefer it be on ps4, switch, or wiiu/wii but I might be able to make something work on ds/3ds
