Incredibly new to speedrunning and decided to go with the biggest fish in the barrel, SM64. I've played the game once before but I want to run the game now. So what binds should I use on my Xbox controller?

Whichever feel comfortable for you? I don’t think SM64 has any rules against what buttons you use when using emulator. Most communities don’t care what your bindings are as long as you’re not abusing something that isn’t possible on a standard controller for the system (doing something like binding the A button to the mouse scroll wheel to get easy turbo for text mashing is generally not allowed for console games played on emulator for example).

If you still have concerns about something like that, you can always reach out to the mods to make sure you’re not doing anything banned.
