So my son and I have been watching speedruns for a couple years and we are both looking to get started trying to run a game. so we thought we'd come to the site everyone recommends for info and hopefully some community while we try hard to get good.. we were wondering

is there a game that makes sense to wet ones feet in the scene?

Are there any 2 player speed runs for us to give a go? we haven't seen that many two player runs and thought it might be fun.

Do y'all have suggestions for a newbie duo?

We are Nintendo kids if that narrows it down or lights a spark?

Appreciate any input or saying hello would go along way.

Co-op runs are indeed very rare. And i can't think of any games beside Good Job! & Overcooked 2 on switch. Goob jobs discord server can be considered Inactive at this point. While Overcooked will likely stay active for the forseeable future.

Hopefully, both of you find a game to speedrun together with if either of them are not to your liking.

There are a number of retro games that can be co-op. The two that come to my mind that are both Nintendo games would be Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers on the NES (Platformer) and TMNT IV: Turtles in Time on the SNES (Beat-em Up)

Austria

For smth retro what comes to mind is The Lost Vikings on the SNES.

Bubble Bobble is a great NES co-op game to wet your feet during the gameplay.
