There isn't too much to this game, so let's get to it.

  1. ALWAYS WALK DIAGONALLY. You can walk diagonally W+D, W+A, A+S, S+D (though the backwards directions are not optimal, since you can't see.) Walking diagonally as opposed to forwards in Electric Highways gives you a speed boost that I would estimate at about 40-50%, and due to how easy it is, it's basically a requirement for running this game. Not gonna reject a run over it, but come on, just do it.

  2. TIMING WITH THE BORDERS DESTROYER The Borders Destroyer is the only item in Electric Highways, and is found in the Plaza level (Level 4), as well as later in the Highway level (Level 10). Its use is to break glass barriers in the levels where it can be found, and it does this when you click the left mouse button. However, this does not happen instantly, as the Borders Destroyer has an animation that plays of the player swinging it (since it's just a metal bar). In practicing to run this game, learn the timing of the hits, so you can get optimal movement in Level 4, where the required path is blocked by many, MANY windows.

  3. GLITCHY MOVEMENT MECHANICS There are two notable places in Electric Highways where the movement does not work as one would expect. Both occur in Metroland. A. When walking along the path made up of red and blue squares, it is easy on some corners to walk in to the side and get stuck on invisible notches in the path. To avoid this, simply don't hug the wall too much as you run. B. When going down the left path in the T-junction room after grabbing the "key", there are two steep downward ramps. When walking forwards, you will quickly slide down them. However, when walking diagonally, the player's speed is too high, and it is easy to stutter movement on the ramps, decreasing speed. To avoid this, jump on to the ramp, and switch from diagonal movement to forward as you go down. This will ensure that you do not lose time by walking forwards for any longer than necessary.

  4. OTHER NOTABLE PLACES In Spacelab Telekon, practice jumping up the stairs in the second room while moving diagonally. It is perhaps the most difficult movement tech in this run, but it saves about 6 seconds over moving forward, and it feels really cool to do. Also to note, when dropping down in to the stairs room, try to land to the right on the set of stairs. This will save the time it takes to jump on the first form the floor. In Highway, focus any special practice on going through the first segment of the level quickly, including especially the purple room before grabbing the Borders Destroyer. If you move fast enough, you may get an early cycle on the elevating platform leading up to the orange room with the level's "key". This save approx. 9 seconds. I do not know if this cycle is RNG, or dependent on overall run time.
