Ordos 9 is my challenge to the world. It's the summary of Dune II strategy. It took me most of the time I've ever spent playing this game, and I couldn't say how many times I've repeated it. Thousands, over the years?
Интересно: Можно ли правила игры подстроить под себя, чтобы победителем быть всегда? Можно придумать такие правила, что не каждый сможет под них подстроиться, тем более не понятно для чего.
Rules have been in effect for ten months now, since we agreed on them. You and me basically, since we were the only active players at the time. They take into account what was in place, an build on that. You've been given a free pass for not fully adhering to them all this time, but if others follow your example, then I have to enforce them for everyone, you included. And notice how I don't ask you to retroactively play by them, even if you asked me to do exactly that all those months ago. And I graciously did, something you never even acknowledged.
After a private conversation with another prospective runner, I have incorporated something he showed to me (browsing the menus at the end of the run). With this step, I hope verification is now fool-proofed. Starting with today's run for Harkonnen Mission 4, my runs will reflect this change, and as soon as I amend the rules, I expect everyone to follow suit.
BTW, no more private conversations will be had on this topic, for which this very same thread was created. Whomever wants to address the question of rules, they can do so here.
Idk if it's okay to specify inappropriate reasons like this:
@0zymandias intentionally rejecting my runs, although I proved him a lot, that it is clean. And now he just don't want to impartially check my runs, that have been fully done by his rules: https://www.speedrun.com/duneii/runs/mkpqj6vy
Initially I set lucky 12:52 WR on A9, but this guy refused to believe, argumenting that I somehow avoided the lags, though we both play on the same emulator. And I didn't mind to upload more proofs to him, even re-records, close to my PB, so I did later in DM. Still, he's keep rejecting.
I think, Mr. @0zymandias unable to manage properly with his powers.
Way too sad that there's only 1 moderator, who's verifying only his runs and inventing comfy rules only for himself and subjective for others, with which not only me was confused, as I learned here. I'd myself become a moderator, but I afraid that I can be not enough active mod to maintain the category as it needed. Just keep in mind my feedback.
Please, don't lift my feedback, thanks.
Only when I informed publicly, @0zymandias started to act adequately. He watched 13:40 run in DM and said that all fine, it fits, but later rejects again w/o even checking, providing that absurd reason from above (although it was the same run, just viewer-friendly version ofc WITH attached video-proof).
And why did you even remove my video with NohBoard from the description :'D This is not for you, it's for people. Why should they watch my yacky desktop??
Again you misunderstand, proof is for everyone, not for mods. Only the video with the desktop will be admitted, every other video will be deleted. If you don't want the yacky part of the desktop to be on display, hide it with the game window, same as I do.
BTW, you timed the run wrongly, it was 12:46, not 12:47, which in itself was 5 seconds better than your initial run of 12:52 with radar on. You're welcome.
I'd myself become a moderator, but I afraid that I can be not enough active mod to maintain the category as it needed.
This is why 0zymandias is moderating the Genesis board. At least he has shown some initiative on creating any rules and is active on the site. Proper reason for video rejection should always be clearly stated. As I've said before, desktop capture rule seems a bit excessive, but shouldn't be anything impossible to achieve. Hide what you don't want to show on screen. There are other games on the site with this rule, not sure if any on Genesis though. I've also previously commented on this before, it's only logical to play fastest version of the game. Meaning USA or JPN NTSC 60 Hz for console games. If many people have problems with 0zymandias moderating or don't agree with his rules, they can take it up with the site staff and argue for a separate page just for Genesis runs. We can transfer current record there. I'm sure no one following this page for MS-DOS or Amiga runs wants to see this arguing brought up every few months.
