This guide explains in detail what needs to be killed for the 100% category.

Why so complicated? The reason that some enemies are not counted towards 100% is that these enemies are not consistent across runs, they can be endlessly spawned and most of them are silent, so it would be impossible in some cases to verify if every enemy was killed if these enemies were to be included. There is also a bug in Faraway Town that 100% runners ought to be aware of.

Quick Summary

  • 68 enemies in Faraway Town (kill counter unreliable)
  • 28 enemies in Car Chase
  • 89 enemies in Otherworld
  • 73 enemies in Ghostbusters Section 1
  • 85 enemies in Ghostbusters Section 2 prior to the Boss Arena
  • Mari & Giga-Something in the Ghostbusters Boss Arena
  • 121 enemies in Fungal Studios (55 before power turned on + 66 after power turned on)

Faraway Town

  • This level contains 68 enemies.

  • No additional enemies spawn.

  • All 68 enemies must be killed for 100%

  • When shooting enemies with both pistols at the same time, sometimes a kill will count as two kills, resulting in the kill counter being higher than 68, this is probably a bug

Car Chase

  • Police cars continue to spawn while there are less than 4 on-screen until a total of 28 have spawned.
  • All 28 police cars must be destroyed for 100%.

Otherworld

  • This level contains 89 enemies.
  • At the end of the level, Sweetheart can spawn a variable number of Robohearts during her boss battle.
  • Robohearts do NOT need to be defeated for 100%.
  • All 89 enemies prior to the Sweetheart boss battle at the end of the level need to be defeated for 100%.

Ghostbusters This level is split into two segments.

  • The segment prior to obtaining the bat contains 73 enemies.

  • No additional enemies spawn in this segment

  • All 73 enemies in the first segment must be killed for 100%.

  • The segment after obtaining the bat but prior to the boss arena contains 85 enemies.

  • All 85 enemies prior to the boss arena must be killed for 100%.

  • Inside the boss arena, Mari and Giga-Something must be defeated for 100%.

  • Additional regular enemies inside the boss arena do NOT need to be killed for 100%.

Fungal Studios

  • The level contains 55 enemies at the start, all of these enemies are Somethings.

  • After the power is turned on, any undefeated Somethings despawn.

  • After the power is turned on, 66 human enemies are spawned throughout the level.

  • All 55 Somethings must be killed before the power is turned on for 100%.

  • All 66 human enemies must be killed after the power is turned on for 100%. (A total of 121 kills are required in this level for 100%.)

Note: The kill counter can only display two digits, so at the end of the level, it should display "12", corresponding to killing 121 enemies, you'll know if you got all the enemies if there is one enemy left after the counter changes to "12"

The Finale

  • Enemies summoned by Sunny do NOT need to be defeated for 100%.
  • Only Bazilla and Doomori need to be defeated for 100%.

Changes to IL timing rules

IL timing now starts upon level fade in, rather than upon pressing "Continue" at the main menu. The rules for when timing ends for each level will remain the same.

This change was made for a variety of reasons, it removes any loading time from IL runs, it allows ILs to be submitted from full game
