I was watching some runs and noticed that people are doing 2 skips that I do not understand / know what to google for.
On EP2 there are 2 keys that on a normal playthrough require a little effort to get; Blue and Yellow.
I've noticed that speedrunners will skip the long interactions required to usually unlock them with some movement that seems to "bump" them into the key. I tried to analyze the videos myself and figure out whats going on but without any luck
Anyone got a good explanation of the tech? (feel confident it has a well known name and I'm just a noob)
After I write this post, I get it first try... would love to know what I actually did to make it work :D
Other people can probably give you a better explanation and I'll try to get a video for ya but I'll give it a go.
So that tech is called a 'keybump' and basically when you collide with the terrain from certain angles and speeds the game thinks that you're inside the wall, which allows you to grab the key without lowering it. There are certain consistent setups that allow you to do it easily once you know how.
Here you go, I have videos of the tech Blue Key:
Yelloy Key: (I personally do a different setup for this key but this is far easier to pull off lol)
