After playing with people and talking to a lot of people I have discovered that there are two main ways people hold the zapper. Some people chose to hold it up close to their eye while others hold it out straight. What's everyones opinion on this, what works best for you? Anyway thanks - Carter44
In terms of speedrunning, I found holding the zapper close to the eye while being further from the TV requires less movement if the targets spread out since you only have to flick the zapper an inch or so.
But being far from the TV wasn't working for clay shooting since shots weren't registering. So for the clays I found extending my arm out and being closer to the TV provided better accuracy even if it means extra movement.
I almost always hold the Zapper like an actual pistol. Arms extended, left eye closed using the sights. However I have dabbled in holding it "like a rifle" but I found that uncomfortable.
I hold it the way the Army trained me. I have a smaller CRT, so I’m sitting about 5 feet from the TV. What works for me is to hold the zapper out and focus on the front sight post. I initial aim the zapper just above the grass in the middle and flick it to the ducks. Sometimes I can catch them right as they are coming off the ground.
I know this is an old thread, but I’m new to the run.
