If someone were to do a route for 100%, what should be took into account ?

Expedition Journals, Wardrobe, Max Relation with the team, Unlock full Manor, Lost Gestral Childs are for sure I would say

But what about Max Level, Pictos, Weapon and Lumina ?

i would personally include pictos and weapons in that yeah

My thoughts on 100% in games is usually anything that within the game itself is trackable for optional collectibles like logs bestiaries for games that have them and optional side content that once completed is no longer able to be done things like that that are very easy to see and now its been done in some way or another.

Max level and things in that nature are kinda arbitrary to 100% runs because there is not anything meaningful most times that would be worth including into it because its almost always just a time sink with no value or reward attached to it besides number can't go up any more.

Collecting things like Pictos and weapons would make sense along with the logs and Relation ships because because that have unlocks tied to them and are easily tracked within the game and hold value so things like character level only matter to a point for some games where its only to get w.e is needed for skills unlocked because again its an unlock.

100% runs have very different classifications in many games and sub-categories or adjunctions to them based on what is considered easiest to track and be able to proof since its a large task to do basically everything that is meaningful to do and know its been done.

It's for sure going to be one of those things where it will come down to how people look at what is considered a completion point to which there is not really any more things left to do but end the game that was trackable and worth the time to get that gives some sort of impact to the time spent vs a time sink that does nothing in the end like grinding levels which in most cases rarely do you ever see 100% runs include character levels past the point that it unlocks skills and abilities etc.

Just my take on it from the experience working on games with such things for a good while and looking at how things have been handled multiple different ways for games over the years.

Certainly something that peaks my interest at this time just slightly because I do enjoy long and comfy runs.

Thank you for your feedback, I too enjoy long runs but also the routing/theorycrafting

The time sink just for the sake of having big numbers is my main concern in the end, I'm not against doing a 9 hours run, but not with 3 hours of braindead farming

Max level is easily doable with minimal farming at the tower or the zone before the abyss, and if you're good enough, +20% exp for no damage help a lot

For Pictos I still have to grasp exactly how you can obtain all of them, because there is those laying around, but for those you can loot from ennemies ? Is it a pool of loot, is it that you have to beat this ennemy one time ? Because if everything concerning them is fixed, then there is no reason for me not to include them I guess, max level is 33 and could be obtainable in just one NG+ run ?

Weapon is the same issue as Pictos, and farm of upgrade material but shop seems to have enough material

And Lumina ... that's for me the most intersting point, I've not tested it myself, but it does not seems that there is a cap. I've read that the most Lumina you need to activate everything is 1730, but is farming 8650 of them interesting ? I don't think so.

In the end everything beside lumina seems fine ?

The tracking and proof of almost everything seems fine, Relationship level is tricky but can be tracked with Gradient abilities, Manor require a full visit of it at the end and the remaining can be checked from menu ? (I don't know if I missed something)

The most tricky part of the run, at face value seems to be Cléa reward. If my memories are correct, you only get one of the three reward from beating her ? Then it would mean you have to speedrun up to NG+1 to get all three ?

France

for clea's reward, unless the dev fix it, you can actually have all 3 outfits in the same run by just going to one of the boss location and tp using the boy again, when he takes you to the plaza again it will ask u again for which character u want to unlock the outfit

France

i think that for a 100% run farming 8650 lumina would be a big time waste as it will take days even with a correct farming spot like renoir drafts

France

that's also where u would go for farming max level (renoir draft merchant)

France

for pictos i do think it"s possible to optimize a rooting as it seems pictos are fixed reward as well as fixed locations / merchant loot

France

for level 33 for 100% pictos u do need ng+3 tho as for example the Dodger pictos is a fixed loot that u can obtain only once per run, and you need 4 run to make it to 33 (3 or 4 actually, i don't remember, ng+2 or ng+3)

France

so maybe level 33 for all pictos wouldn't be recommended?

France

but if we go for a true 100% run with ng+'s, 100% level 33 pictos would go along looting all the baguettes's weapon from the boulangerie as well as the outfits of the corresponding endings

you need to go to ng+2 for the 5 baguette weapons

France

so i guess there is 100% ng, and true 100% with multiple ng+

Centre, France

Yeah I think a separation between 100% NG and %100 NG+ si necessary.

It also question me about the early pictos and weapon, should we care only about max level pictos, or collecting every one of them from pickups, ennemies or merchant ?

Same question for merchant, is it necessary to buy everything they have to offer ?

For both question I don't think it would be something easy to track when verifying the run

Ontario, Canada

When it comes to how most games have handled items and equipment its been common to only need at least 1 of them regardless of what the level is or quantity of said item or equipment etc.

So from my view point having done work on hundos and having seen plenty of them that no you don't need to always buy out a shop or need to fully max a weapon, equipment etc unless its required to unlock or get something else that would count within your collection items etc.

Ontario, Canada

TDLR in how I would go about 100%;

  • Collect all Pictos and Weapons regardless of level.
  • Collect at least 1 of every item in the game.
  • Collect all Wardrobe Outfit cosmetics for each Character. ( Only the ones that are obtainable in the game during play and exploration, this includes from traders and side quests etc. )
  • Collect all of the Log files.
  • Complete all Side Quests this includes, Requests, Companion Stories etc. ( Anything that has you needing to do something to get a reward in some fashion is considered a Side Quest. )
  • Complete all Mini-games ( Such as the Gestral Beaches etc )
  • Defeat all Bosses including the Chromatic versions. ( Anything with a Boss health bar at the top of the screen is considered a boss in this sense. )
  • Unlock all Lumina's from Pictos. ( Need to have all Pictos available to be used as a passive for all characters )
  • Unlock all Skills for all characters ( This includes Gradient Attack skills from Relationship Rank with Companions )
  • Unlock all Shortcuts and all Zones/Areas in the game.
  • Max Relationship with all Companions.

There is likely more things that I'm missing at this time when thinking about this but its def going to be a very lengthy run and check list to complete.

Ontario, Canada

You would not be able to do this run for NG+ since you would already have the majority of the above and not feasibly possible in the spirit of things to also verify either and should always be done from a fresh New Game file only.

Some games for 100% would require going into a NG+ if that is possible, which for this game is for some possibility of miss-able or not available things on the list above which at the moment is to be determined as far as I know you should be able to do everything on a New Game file.

Well it seems that NG+ is required for Baguette Weapons, since you would need at least 8 festival token total. (3 for NG reward, and 5 for baguettes) Except if there is a duplication Glitch for them

I'll probably work on an excel sheet or some kind of document with everything you have to do, and share it at least here because with how much stuff there is, I'll surely miss things.

And the ressources I've found so far on the internet are not absolutely reliable from what I Saw.

I'll probably route the game with expert mode in mind, if I'm going for 100% I'll at least take the highest difficulty ahah

I like Mash's list, and it would be fairly easy to keep track of because several of the requirements are linked - for example:

  • Complete all Side Quests this includes, Requests, Companion Stories etc is linked to...
  • Defeat all Bosses including the Chromatic versions. because of the Gestral who asks you to kill all Chromatics

Baguette weapons would be a slightly weird ending point, as it would basically mean unless you dupe tokens the run would end upon collecting the Baguette weapons. I guess they could be excluded and it just be called NG 100% or something?

Also idk about others but plat seems like a trackable metric too for hundo requirement

Obviously there may be some exceptions that could be agreeable to exclude like that so you could still finish on actually beating the game without repeating already accomplished content/goals which just pads the time with no benefit.

But yeah what I was bringing up is that a vast majority of what I have listed inter links with other parts and is easy to track within the game it's self. Again having been around a lot of 100% categories in communities and having been learning some and routing for others I just wanted to share some insight on the topic.

By no means am I saying I'm correct because I'm looking at it objectively and in terms of what would make it a fun and doable speedrun without it being a slog and uninteresting to do or watch etc.
