if I manage to fail level 1 or get a really big lag (which is always), can I simply die and then count time from when I respawn?

also one more question, I'm having a weird glitch in which mid-play, usually around first levels, the game doesn't react to my inputs and I have to click the game with my cursor to play again, usually at 1st and 2nd level, though sometimes extending to 4th even, and it can happen even twice in one speedrun.

It's very annoying, especially when I press the right or upper arrow and it moves the screen itself, is there a way to prevent it?
