Ancients' Peak OoB Glitch

1. This guide is intended to help familiarize new runners with this Out Of Bounds (OOB) glitch and to help more established runners make this trick more consistent. For tl;dr instructions on how to perform this glitch, please proceed to paragraph 6; however, I strongly recommending reading this guide in its entirety before attempting as there are some notable difficulties.

2. In general, any character that is playable in a level can be used OOB. However, it is worth noting that some characters may be more useful OOB because of size. For instance, Danny is a larger character model, so he can clip more easily in and out of spaces than Spongebob.  If you're new to this trick, I recommend starting with Danny. As you progress and become more familiar with the trick and more consistent, you may want to try other characters. 

3. It is worth nothing that since this trick requires you to fall into OOB, the playable character's double jump mechanic is preserved; this means that a runner has two jump frames to press on his or her respective controller.  However, once these two jump frames have been used, they are gone for the rest of the time the playable character remains OOB.  Jump mechanic only returns if a player collides with an object and returns in-bounds or rubber-bands back in bounds.

4. Rubberbanding and soft-locking are potential risks of this glitch. Rubberbanding is simply snapping back to the point of origin (where the player first fell OOB) because a player collided with a solid plane intended to be playable with a character. Rubberbanding can happen at any point with this glitch, but most notably around the first and second cycles when trying to go around the mountain object. Soft-locking occurs during the sixth cycle or later.  If the player takes the character and falls into the updraft, there is the possibility of the game soft locking if the audio never plays or if the character does not make contact with the updraft pixels. However, there are ways to mediate this. A player could choose to fall into the platform containing the moving crystals or a player could collide with the platform where the blue and orange crystals grow. These options are only a second to a few seconds slower, and they do not risk soft-locking the game. However, it is potentially fastest to try to fall into the updraft.

5. Overall, this glitch is necessary as the amount of time it takes to perform it and risk is not greater than the reward reaped by the speedrunner. Directions for consistency for this OOB glitch is as follows:

6. 	a. In Ancient's Peak, progress the level normally until your character reaches the platform with blue and orange 		crystals directly in line with a mini magwu spawner.
	b. Go to the end of the platform and line your character up with the 4th line in the tile from the left side of the screen. This is your falling entry point. Do not jump; let your character walk off the platform. If you have done this correctly, your screen should turn gray. Congratulations; you are now OOB.
	c. Character should be falling in cycles at regular 20 second intervals with the first interval being irregular (possibly 16 or so seconds). Count these in your head. You will know an interval has passed when you see the character model turn into a character head on the screen. You should only need about six intervals; more than that, and you will begin to lose time by doing this trick vs. progressing through the level as normal.
	d. Looking at your control stick, imagine four quadrants (like you've learned about in Algebra :D ). To begin this trick, your joystick needs to point down and to the right 45 degrees, or be exactly in the middle of quadrant IV. Stay here for one cycle or long enough to make it around the mountain.
	e. Once you have passed the mountain, press your joystick to the right at a 90 degree angle. If you're looking at the four quadrants, you would be on the x-axis between quadrants I and IV. Do this for 4 cycles. Pay attention to the level objects loading in the background. They are your guide on how hard and how far you need to push in the right direction. Once you see the second set of crystal pillars and the platform with the blue and orange crystals, do not push any further. You will need to start moving closer to the level.
	f. At the beginning of your sixth cycle, you will have to use your best judgement when lining up your character to jump or fall into the level. I recommend using a late jump technique, like that seen with Sam Skip in Calamity Cove as waiting gives you a better chance of clipping back into the level. Possible objects to collide with as mentioned before: air draft, platform with blue and orange crystals, or platform with lever with moving crystal pillars above.
	g. Once you have made contact with a solid surface, congratulations! You're done. :D

Character Abilities/Minor Differences

Spongebob - Basic overall character. Similar jumping height with Timmy, but slightly decreased. Attack damage is normal alongside attack speed. Very small character model, small hit-box. Normal ranged ability, no special use for it besides the ranged attack. The allowance of 1 frames with this character is slightly adjusted to be better. Ground-pounding is slightly decreased in speed.

Danny - Very glitchy jump and jump height, some what inconsistent, but used for some strategies. Attack speed is slightly better than normal, but average damage. Special ability has no purpose (yet), nothing special besides it's ranged attack. Probably the biggest character model, used for many tricks, particularly used for character-model triple jumps, which intends for getting to higher places easily. Slightly increased ground-pound speed.

Patrick - Movement in this character may feel clunky, but his jumping ability is very smooth, alongside his 'ranged' ability with the combination of his double jump is soon to be used for certain glitches in future routing. Patrick's attack speed is below average, attack damage seems to be slightly increased. This character has the best damage according to his special, used for many fights with certain enemies. His ground-pound speed and Sandy's ground-pound speed seems to be the fastest.

Sam - Probably has the best attack speed, but possible the worst attack damage. Her specific power-up allows her to completely skip an entire level, allowing for a quadruple jump, perfectly timed, also intended for slightly increased movement speed and jump height. Jumping height and jump speed seem to be average. Her ranged ability has no intended use for anything besides for attacking. Ground-pounding has a slightly better recovery.

Timmy - Comparing with Spongebob, they both have the same slightly decreased hit-box and character model. Unfortunately used in only one level, a recent strategy to do with him, is called 'Timmy Jump' using the jump button and immediately pressing his special ability(which requires him to be ascending in his first jump) (which also requires the orange energy) and pressing jump immediately again will intend for a consistent triple jump which allows to go through the 'Crystal Ruins' level smoothly. Ranged attack is average overall (excluding the allowance for Timmy Jump). Jumping height is by far the best out of any character. Best overall attack damage, but very decreased attack speed. Ground-pound has a slightly decreased recovery (slower). 

Sandy - Very smooth movement, jump height is normal. Attack speed is slightly increased, and slightly better attack damage. Her recovery from damage and ground-pounding is the best out of any character. Normal ranged attack, nothing special about it. 1 frames with her are slightly better than all characters (excluding spongebob).

Side note- All characters have the same movement speed. Danny, Patrick, Sam, and Sandy, all have the biggest character model. All ranged attacks have the same speed.

Nicktoons BFVI All Salvage Items Guide!

This guide is just basic information on things about and all salvage items (ASI) run.
First, locations of the salvage items.

Summoner's Rock:
Items: 3
Spongebob's Pearl- after the cutscene about salvage items, on a shell.

Sandy's Rocket - Before the vehicles falling out of the sky, Near a giant cornucopia-shaped horn. after two platforms you don't have to jump on.

Squidward sign 1- When the game talks about secrets stay towards the bottom of the screen, there will be a point where the land loops out and the sign is down there.

Shipwreck Cliff:
Items: 4
Sandy's Surfboard- on a ledge extending for from a wall after the elevator platforms, jump from the first elevator (or second depending on comfort) the ledge.

Spongebob's Spatula - After the bridges above the elevators, you should look towards the bottom of the screen till you see yellowish wood. walk down on it and the spatula is there.

Danny's Greenstone- Basically unmissable. Underneath the staircase right after the containers that fell into the water.

Patrick's totem 1-  on the beach with the giant sand monster, after the cutscene walk down slightly, it's there.

Calamity Cove:
Items: 7
(I forgot what these items are called)
Item 1(Some sort of totem)- at the intro, climb up on the vines and break the wall. (Note - Tucker will tell you if a salvage item is near for almost every item in this level.)

Item 2 (Timmy's magic 9 ball)- A little bit further near the top of the level, take the rising air up to it. It's just sitting there

Item 3 (Tucker's Radio Tower)- Stay towards to the left of the level and go up a ramp that has a grey stone on it. Jump up the ledges, it is on top next to a bird spawner.

Item 4 (Crate of meat)- Cannot be missed. in the middle of the turtle section on the island... just sitting there.

Item 5 (Another totem)- Directly after the turtles, when going past the anchor of the boat there is a wall that is cracked. it is behind it (can be broken with melee attacks)

Item 6 (Danny Totem)- Behind the old tree that you hit to activate a cutscene.

Item 7 (Sam's Jack-O-Lantern)- For the cutscene before Squidward, climb up the vines on the wall after it ends. Climb up some more vines. it is at the top.

Fort Crabclaw:
Items: 6
Squidward Sign 2 - When jumping over the pit on the pillars where there are seagulls. Make you way downwards along the pillar, you have to jump on one with a seagull for safer strats. It is on a pillar.

Haniwa Statue - With the frog section, it is similar to the first item. on the second lilypad, jump down and to the right to a tiny island thing.

Item 3 (So many totems in this game T_T)- It is after the frog section towards the top of the screen on a tree stump. Danny and Sam will be talking about suitcases when you are near it.

Timmy's Goldfish Bowl- This level has two of these location type things, after climbing up the second ladder when entering the fort, go to the left and jump off the side onto the wall of the fort. Walk along it and the item is at the end.

Spongebob's Ukelele- Similar to the on before. When climbing up the giant blue ladder wall, stay toward the left till you see the wall and run along the wall. It is at the end where Sam talks about islanders.

Sams Egyptian Cat Statue- On the last obstacle course thing, go all the way to the right towards the grassy area. Head down and you should see what looks like a broken rope bridge. It is just below, you have to jump off the side to get to it.

The Great Carapace:
Items: 0

Crystal Ruins:
Items: 6
Trixie Tang Photo- After the first little section, it is where the trampolines lead after the first cutscene

Sandy's Karate Totem - The game basically forces you to see this. It is behind the one crystal wall on the beginning with the rock. The rock will auto target the wall if you throw it. A special attack will also break it. You can climb the vines to the item.

Item 3 (sign/blockade thing)- In the middle of a trampoline section right before the giant crystal wall. Can't really miss it.


Item 4 (Statue number unknown) - Another statue that is above that ramp right before the puzzle. You just have to run along it and eventually, you will find it. It is all the way to the left.

Item 5 (Patricks Totem pole 4)- there is a square of crystal walls while you running through the level that you have to break or go over to progress. It is in the middle 

Sam's Decorative Banner- There is a push wall and a ramp that goes down instead of going through the wall. At the bottom of the ramp is the item.

Fetid Forest:
Items: 4
Tucker's Satellite Dish- In the beginning, after the initial shambling tree section, you can climb up some vines and run along the ramp until you see guards.The item is behind them.

Da Rules Book- Near the end of the mine you can climb up some vines on the wall. If you climb up and take a left the book is there. (There are faster strats, but keeping it simple for their location)

Squidward Sign 3- A the top of the same vines as stated before and to the right the sign is.

Sam's Recycling Bin- One of the most elaborate items to get. You have to go up the section where there is the 3 rows of metal platforms going downwards. Instead of going to the right at the top to the next section, go to the left. There is to spinning wheels with more metal platforms that you have to jump across. After getting across and onto the ledge, the item is all the way to the left.

Dry Canyon Dam:
Items: 0

Ancient's Peak:
Items: 0

Summit's Storm:
Items: 2
(Note - Both items for this level are after tree trunks floating in the middle of the air off your screen)
Sandy's Flag of Texas- When you make your way past the first lattice wall climb, there are two mawgu monsters and that giant building where you have to jump outwards and up to progress. Before heading onto the ledge/building jumping area, walk downwards where the monsters are. Once you are at the bottom part of the platform you should see a tree trunk floating in the air. Jump on it and run along it till you see the flag on the truck.

Squidward's Sign 4- Final Item! In the middle of the second lattice climb (right before the checkpoint for those weird yellow things in the air that fall) climb up about halfway. There should be two weird clock hand looking things that knock you off the wall. Dodge them and go to the left where one is, the wall should look like there is an opening. When you jump off of it, there is a tree trunk and the sign in on it.

Congrats, You got every item!

Now for stuff about the run itself... First off the characters.
Spongebob:
Pick up Speed - Approximately 4.5 seconds
Second best character pick things up, Pick almost every item up as him because he is in every level
Danny:
Pick up Speed - Approximately 5-5.25 seconds.
Not items need to be picked up as him, that being said, it isn't a deficit if you pick up and item as him.
Patrick:
Pick up Speed - Approximately 5-5.25 seconds
Similar to Danny, not wildly problematic if you pick an item up as him
Sam:
Pick up Speed - Approximately 5 seconds
Only used to pick up 2 items in the run, one in crystal ruins and one in fort crabclaw. She only picks up items because an energy canister is before them.
Timmy: 
Pick up Speed - Approximately 4 seconds
Best character to pick things up with, fastest by far.
Sandy:
Pick up Speed - So this character picks up items so slow, Approximately 7- 7.5 seconds
NEVER PICK AN ITEM UP AS HER. (unless strats are found using her that make getting to an item faster than others.)

Taking damage or being knocked back as any character while picking up an item will reduce the pickup time to their stun duration, about 1-2 seconds. being entangled will not affect the duration of the pickup time, but you will be stunned coming out of the pickup.

You can jump from the mainland to the pearl on Summoner's rock to the shell and pick up the item, if you jump off into the water fast enough after picking up the item, you will be respawned back to the mainland. If you don't get the reset back to the mainland, you can jump from the leftmost of the shell and make it back to the mainland if you time your jumps nearly perfectly. (fairly hard to get back) There is also a chance that Danny AI will stand at the edge from where you jumped and you will be able to swap to him as spongebob falls into the water. Just something worth mentioning.

This is still fairly new run, but strats from any% carry over to this run in most cases such as ancient peak skip and crabclaw skips. Just make sure that you don't skip things, I will attempt to update this guide if the run becomes different. If the run ever completely alters (Major strats or just loads of new information) I will make a new guide.
