on console you are unable to change the tether distance so how do the runs work in the case of console?

I'm interested in running 2 player scorched earth with my brother but we are on ps4 and the tether distance is really short and doesn't seem to be modifiable.

I would like to know what should I do ?

Only thing i can think of is renting a server

We had a server but we stopped renting it last month.

I read in another forum thread that the game must be played in a non-dedicated server rather than a dedicated one.

Rented servers are dedicated aren't they?
