# Lag abuse

# Block-breaking glitch

A method found by Xander to break blocks without using lag strats
Please note this method is slightly inconsistent as for now.

If you shoot a block that is loading (while you enter the room), the shot will ignore the block's damage requirement and therefore break it, allowing you to not need to pickup the item in order to pass through that barrier.

This can be done with any weapon with high speed (Lightning Gun, Flame Thrower, fast bolts/Rotary Bolts, Railgun, etc.) but each one has a different timing window.

Out Of Bounds glitch

Using the Arachnomorph (the little spider-like guy you can transform into), you can go out-of-bounds in almost any room that has a crawlspace or breakable blocks that allow you to create your own crawlspace by shooting the lowest one.

Standing next to the crawlspace, press Down+Button to turn into the Arachnomorph and immediately press Up and slightly to the direction of the wall. If done correctly, you will unmorph and slowly rise up into the wall/ceiling, where you can then move freely.

You can get on top of the room you are currently in, which allows for easier (and in some cases maybe faster) traversal. You can also fall off of the side of the room, which doesn't scroll the screen but depending on where you fall, you might uncover map spaces far below your actual position, which could be helpful to find out about the map and which ways to take.

It's not clear yet if this glitch allows for any sequence breaks or skipped items, as it seems you can only actually get to the directly connected rooms. This may allow you to climb up a very high room without having any high jump items, as you slowly move upwards inside the walls, but it's unlikely that allows you to skip high jump items alltogether as there are likely to be more rooms where high jump is required without there being any crawl spaces to abuse the glitch.

extra note: 
if you dont get a item that only has 1 option on shrine (ex. Pen Shot on Tyr or CC in Hephaestus), it might be because the item is already present somewhere in the seed, be it normal drop or a shop

Useful techs

# Shrine animation skip

If you hold a direction button before speaking to any shrine, you'll skip the acceleration for scrap donation. Can also be buffered with Down+Right/Left. Even though it doesnt save IGT, it does save you some time of donating big amounts of scrap

# Save & Quit skips

* If you Save and Quit after pressing one of the switches in Megabeast Core, you'll skip the entire fight sequence.

* You can repeat Megabeast fight after killing it to farm achievements, if you S&Q right after getting each kill achievement window.

* Since runs are timed with IGT, you can do S&Q to skip certain animations, like respawning/saving on a Revenant Station, or going back all the way to the start of any room for farming purposes.

# Glitch realm access

There are 4 ways of accessing Glitch Realm:

* Donating 4 of each 4 scraps to a shrine
* Dashing into a non-used Revenant Station (not sure if doing Buzzsaw Shell screw attack into it counts too)
* Talking to Tutorial Smith if he has a glitched animation (only available after accessing Glitch Realm for the first time)
* Going out of bounds (Phase Shell, Arachnomorph damage boost, Dashing into a magic pixel, touching that one item block inside The Factory horizontal room with spikes and moving platforms)

# Slideboost

If you do a slide, then press jump + the direction you're going, you'll be boosted in that direction. This scales both with Dash, and with how much Speed you have in the moment, allowing you to traverse wide rooms quick. Note that having Buzzsaw Shell will render this tech undoable.

# Forest room skip

A totally not useful way of skipping a room in forest. Somersault into a branch with less than 1 block size, then shoot as soon as you're touching the floor. Somersault has a smaller collision than shooting hitbox, so you'll get pushed below the branch when switching animation.

# Stacked hitboxes

Some bosses can be killed quickly if you shoot them with a penetrative shot (Buzzsaw Gun, Penetration Bolt or Electrocharge) while the boss fight is starting (while Get Ready text is on screen). Quick examples are Wall Creep, Flesh Adder and Megabeast

# Phase Shot switch skips

* If you have enough Bolt Size (preferably with Electrocharge), you can make the explosion of the bolt go through walls and hit any Phase switch

# Surface City tall room skip

There are few specific ways to skip this room without Infinite Jump upgrades. Most of them will require walljumping off the ledges on the top of the room.

* If you have any High Jump pickup (except Hover Boots), you can get damage boosted after doing a big jump, so you can chain the resulting somersault with a wall-jump onto the ledges.

* In the case of Hover Boots, these require a different setup with walljump and hover, to get damage boosted and continue hover upwards. It's way more precise than other HJ pickups

* If you DONT have high jump, but you have 21 or more speed (the more speed, the more consistent it is), you can do a wide walljump onto the ledges to get up there. Doesn't need any damage boost but its a huge speed requirement. The NJ Jump :^)
Can be obtained with 18 speed and temporal upgrades (from champions or Wadjet Mikail) or more speed.

* Really precise Damage Boost (which have random direction and intensity) if less than 20 speed, to get the wall jump and same as above.

* There's a last way which requires both a High Jump upgrade + Red Key but that's really situational and just means triple jumping as normal.
