There are three main versions for speedrunning which are 1.0.0, 1.0.3-1.0.4, & 1.1.0-1.1.1. These three groups have differences in which stars there are & it therefore shall contain tutorials for all of the three groups.

There are three sets of levels that must be in chronological order in terms of acheiving the fastest speedruns:

Set 1: Snow Land Booser in the sky thingy Rob Bob Battlething Wump's House Booh's House Djoli Rogzer Bah (in version 1.1.0+)

Set 2: Lava Land & therefore Lava Cave Sand Land & Therefore Sand Pyramid Booser in the lava thingy

Set 3: Weth Drei Word Booser Bettle

People can do levels out of order & not lose time if the levels that are not in order are in the same set.

All versions share a glitch that allows Mayro to Move during Princes Pesh cutscene by using the WASD keys during the cutscene (or even the mouse) & the collection (of stars or a keys) cutscene skip which occurs when the player presses escape in order to open the continue/exit menu before collecting the star or key, collects the star or key, & presses exit during the cutscene. The availability of the star or key cutscene skip depends on the level & which version the player uses. It additionally spawns two Mayros in some instances.

Version 1.0.0:

Start the timer when the loading screen first appears. Then move Mayro during the cutscene, enter the castle door, & go to the painting that takes Mayro to Snow Land.

Touch the baby penguin in order to give him to his mother. Press escape between going to the mother & being close to her in order to skip the star animation. Keep going back to the corresponding level until you collect all the stars or the key. Go to the snowball & go towards it while facing the directing of the ramp that carries the snowball. A couple of seconds later, go backwards in order to increase the speed of the snowball. Go near the snowman once the snowball has reached its maximal speed & then get the star while doing the cutscene skip. Go into the slide on top of the chimney. A mayro will do the slide animation but when the second Mayro (which is the controllable one) spawns near him, go early in order to save a second. The star cutscene skip does not work in the penguin slide area. Therefore, get the star without pausing & exiting. Conclude Snow Land by going into Rob Bob's House (which is a level that doesn't allow the player to exit it).

Get the key from Bowser in the sky thing & go to Chump's pole & touch it in order to unlock the gate that blocks the star. Go to the cannon & press the "words" button. Go to Rob Bob & touch his back. The fastest strategy for getting the Rob Bob star is to go near the green face & get the star it has only stopped being underground.

When the player arrives at Wump's House, go to the "owl" & get the star. It is hard to do the star cutscene skip with this star in paticular. Every other instance of getting a star in Wump's House is possible. The fastest way to get the cannon star from Wump's House is to drop down right at the star after activating the cannon. Touch King Wump's back. Then, get a star from him in the middle of his arena & another star from the pole.

Go on top of the ghost in the backyard in order to go to Booh's House in order to get the one star that is on top of the roof. Go to the door near the backdoor which is the door that Mayro unlocks with a key. Congradulations! You have finished set one.

Get the star in the room with water & go to the doctor in order to get a star. Then, go to the painting for Lava Land.

Go to the left of the bottom center red coin in order to get the red coins star. In set two, do not exit out of the level because Mayro would spawn near near the beginning of the castle which would waste more time due to the key door cutscene & running all the way back. All stars in segment two will spawn you near the area of the water room. Go on the spinning pillar in order to get the star near it. Go back into Lava Land & go into the shape that somewhat resembles a volcano in order to go to Lava Cave in order to get the star (by using lava damage height boosts) in order to get the star on the opposite side of the stairs & then go in the elevator in order to get the highest star. Go into Lava land in order to get the star by touching the opposite side of Big Bully's face. Then, go to Sand Land which you additionally shouldn't use the star cutscene skip for the same reasons that I listed earlier.

Go on the green rectangular prism & let the doctor move to Mayro in order to get his star. Then, go near the top of the pyramid in order to get the question mark block in the middle due to the green mushroom. Use it in order to go higher due to the star. Jump in the opposite of over the question mark block for some time in order to not require to not temperarily stay in the air. Go to hitbox of the black area in the pyramid in order to change the area to Sand Pyramid. Get the star near the blocks & the star from the hand boss. Go back to Sand Land in order to get the star near the moving block. Then, get the key from Booser in the lava thingy.

Go upstairs & get the star from Toad by stepping near him & go to Weth Drei Word in order to get the star by going into the convex corner near the stairs that are close to Mayro's spawn in the level in order to teleport Mayro in order to go to the cannon. Getting the star does not bring you to the castle & therefore the only way to get the final star is to press exit the program & re-enter it. Press "New Game" & use the movent during the Princes Pesh cutscene glitch. Go into the door that leads towards the upstairs, jump onto the stairs to the left after going up the stairs near Toad, unlock the by going left while facing the stairs going upwards in order to save time, go to the chimney to Booser Bettle, & touch Booser's tail in order to spawn the star & get Princes Pesh's literal cake.

Version 1.0.3-1.0.4:
