## Dash-Slide

Sliding immediately after dashing results in an extremely fast and long slide. This can be further extended with a jump; however, double-jumping tends to significantly reduce momentum.

## Charge shot buffer

You can buffer primary fire while holding alt-fire for the magnum's charge shot, so that it will shoot as soon as it is fully charged.

You can also buffer back into the charge shot by holding alt-fire after the previous shot goes off.

DO NOT keep holding down primary fire after firing a charge shot if you want to charge again, as it will result in auto-firing uncharged shots.

## E1M3 Barrel Jump

Immediately after collecting the Dash upgrade, you're normally intended to deal with an enemy ambush until a wall comes down 25 seconds later. This can be skipped entirely with the one barrel that the developers intentionally left in the middle of the arena (the walls don't extend to the top of the map).

The most consistent way to get maximum height from a barrel jump seems to be to stand on top of the barrel and press jump right after shooting down at the barrel.

You can also get a decent dash-slide-jump off of the top.

## E1M8 (Homecoming) Lava Dip

Pretty much the entirety of the level can be skipped with some well-timed jumping and dashing. (Korzodin the lead dev himself pointed this out.)

1. Slide-dash-jump off the ledge where you first see the ship in the distance.
2. DO NOT DOUBLE-JUMP, as this delays dash cooldown.
3. As soon as dash recharges (this should still be mid-air on the first jump), double-jump and dash again.
4. You will land in lava and take some damage. Don't panic; wait for dash to refill (or nearly refill such that it will fill in midair), then jump, dash, double-jump.

This should be enough to reach the ship with only a couple ticks of lava damage. You will probably want over 50 armor going in, since otherwise lava hurts a lot.

## Any-elevation switch presses

In the Doom engine, switches on walls can be pressed at any elevation, even though the switch texture itself is only located in one place. (This concept may already be familiar if you've watched runs of Doom II.)

This can be useful for hitting the switch in the guard tower at the end of E1M3 from right inside the door without needing to go to the 2nd floor. (It's also possible to hit from the top, but hitting it from the ground floor seems faster.)

Another place it could be useful is for the guard tower in E1M8 (Homecoming) where you can seriously press "air" above the switch; however, this is obsoleted by the lava dip.
