Some basic functions and little tricks

Hiya~ I'm pokeythewolf

I'll give you a little breakdown of some of the functions in this game

You've got your basic movement keys wasd. Forwards, left, backwards, and right. You'll mostly be using wad for most maps except for ones requiring tight turns. in which point you'll want to utilize reverse to try slowing down. Keep in mind it can influence your driving, making it difficult to turn.

Drift- normally set as space. Usually this is one of the things that helps you make tight turns or set you up for another turn. Though there's a little more to this mechanic. By default you drift to the left. so if you need to move right. Gotta hold right.

Jump - Usually set to left mouse button. This does consume boost, so it's ideal not to spam it when making jumps. In fact you can hold left click for a few seconds (or less depending on what you want to clear,) and increase your jump height. It's useful for making those pesky jumps in magical library, as well maintaining your angle when making jumps.

Boost- Thankfully this does what it says it does. it's usually shift that boosts your speed.

And finally Honk- Other than @#$%s and giggles it's used more in other game modes to utilize power-ups.

Some of the Tips

Drift can actually help maintain speed into turns, as well as seemingly help with maintaining speed both on land and while airborne. Those pesky hills in dunes slowing you down and you don't have the boost? Hold drift and try to drive straight up. You'll need to tap the right turn key several times to keep yourself straight. While airborne it's the same thing, you want to keep tapping right not to spin out. Pairs nicely with boost, (though I don't know any opportunities to use it effectively except maybe that hill in dunes??)

Outside hills and airborne. Drift can also aid in accelerating from no speed back up to your fastest base speed. by holding drift at anytime you start from a standstill and controlling it to go straight. (tapping right repeatedly to straighten out.) You can find yourself saving up to 2 seconds at the start of a race.

Hopefully this helps a little bit with some attempts in speedruns. ^^;

Any other tips or tricks? or corrections to basic functions? (maybe in a way that's clearer. Cause I'm too wordy... Probably) Just send me a message with the info, and I'll add it in.
