Major new stuff added to Dragonsweeper!
- new monsters and changed some old monsters' behaviors
- adjusted the challenge
- improved UI
- basic mobile support (will not be perfect unless the game is redesigned for the format)
Remember: always check the Monsternomicon
This is my first time on this website so I have no idea how to handle such a huge change in the rules for speedruns !
I think it's a good idea to separate the old and new version
If a new version will be added, an additional detail regarding that: There was a version that was a lot easier for like 1-2 hours and I don't know if it's playable anymore, but I got a decent time on it during that time so take that version under a thinking hat.
oh yeah definitely split it, also tysm for keeping the original versions playable <3
It seems that the dev are still ongoing on the new version.
The mobs health have been updated again.
We should wait for a stable version !
But for now I can't play either with the files I have downloaded, I have the same issue on both folder :
Thank you for being on top of things!
I've added a new subcategory Version and set the default to 1.1. Existing runs are still available and present on the 1.0 leaderboard, don't worry!
You can still submit v1.0 runs if you download the old version from the itch.io page but the default will be whatever the current version is (so 1.1).
I don't expect to need to do this for every version but given the dragon now has 2 less HP this is obviously one to split the runs by!
Yeah Dragon has 2 less HP but hearts fill up way slower ! Overall the game is more difficult now :) Thanks for reacting fast @PrettyPrincessKitty !
And as soon as I'll be able to run the files downloaded from itch.io I'll start grinding the 1.0 first place again ! I'm coming from you @Jan_3 !
@TotoroPHD are you running a local server? It works just fine for me with Python's http.server
Hey, I've been playing the game a bunch recently and I wanted to check out the speedruns. But heads up the dev has done a few more updates in the past few days.
v1.1.15 a couple days ago, v1.1.16 yesterday, and v1.1.17 today. All were slightly different.
v1.1.15 was slightly bugged I think. v1.1.16 added a pet thing. v1.1.17 has Dragon Egg and 4 stamps to collect. (3 for sparing certain monsters and 1 for clearing the full board)
I'd assume you'd want to wait until it settles to set up a new leaderboard but when you do I'll prob go for a few runs.
Well, I already did a run of v1.1.17 and I am going to submit it for now as with the current ruleset it is allowed.
personally i think major changes (v1.0.x vs v1.1.x) should be separated by sub-categories but i think sub-versions (v1.1.1 vs v1.1.17 for example) should just be a variable
I've added a variable tag for the sub-version, but trying to separate the boards further by e.g. v1.1.10 and v.1.17 is enough of a headache (as well as retroactively tagging all runs) that I think it's fine to leave as-is
In short, I think the way to tell:
- Dragon has 15 HP => v1.0
- Dragon has 13 HP, I have no idea what else makes it easier => v1.1.10
- Dragon has 13 HP, no dog, this is most v.1.1 runs => v1.1.15
- Dragon has 13 HP, dog in corner => v1.1.16
- Dragon has 13 HP, gazer ?s are purple => v1.1.17
