This is a guide to the current best know speedrun method for the win% category.

The objective of speedrunning the win% category is to get rescued by anyone in the game in  the apocalypse gamemode on normal difficulty as fast as possible. The fastest method to do so is to get rescued by the secret agents, this counts as a "maybe you survived" but it is enough for it to count as getting rescued.

Some tips:

-Play as Ted, if you choose dolores you will have to carry one extra slot of items in the scavenge period because Ted is 3 slots large just like Mary-Jane.

-Use 2 fingers (or hands) to click the pages in the survival period, this will give you a small speed boost when flipping trough the pages.

-The timer starts when you press "BEGIN ADVENTURE" keep that in mind.

Scavenge period:

After pressing begin adventure, the scavenge period starts. You will now have a few seconds to look around and after that: 60 seconds to scavenge for items before the bomb drops.

My advice is to start in the far back of the house, the farthest away from the hatch so you don't have to run al the way back there when you don't have much time left.

A known method to walk faster is to move diagonally by moving sideways and foreward at the same time, this will give you a significant speed boost when scaveging.

Items to get:

-Dolores

-As much food and water as possible

-Medkit

-Radio

-Gas mask or flashlight

-Timmy

(in order of importance with Dolores being the most important and Timmy the least)

The reason to get the radio and gas-mask or flashlight is because it will decrease the chances of the medkit burning in a fire, it will increase the chances of a flood or earthquake happening.

The reason to get the medkit is to heal Ted or Dolores when necesarry, this will increase the chance of survival but isn't necesarry.

You may bring other items with you but you aren't going to use them if you follow this guide.
It is best to not bring anything unnecesarry so you don't get stuck trying to get to the hatch.

You don't need all the food and water in the house so try to get the other things when you think you have enough food and water.

Survival period:

After going down the hatch the survival period starts, I will now write down every day and the importance of each one.

Day 1: nothing can happen (skip)

Day 2: prepare for an expedition by selecting the backpack on page 3

Day 3: select Timmy or Dolores (if you don't have Timmy) on page 3

Day 4: skip

Day 5: feed Ted and Dolores (if you sent timmy, otherwise just feed ted) on page 2

Day 6: skip

Day 7: skip (Timmy might return)

Day 8: skip (Timmy might return)

Day 9: skip (Timmy might return) if timmy didn't return reset the run. (if timmy returned on day 7 he will die today)

Day 10: feed Dolores and Ted on page 2 (Timmy will die) you are looking for a specific event on page 4, it will ask you to bring inside a cat named sharikov on the other side of the hatch, select yes. If you didn't get this event restart the run.

Day 11: skip

Day 12: skip

Day 13: skip

Day 14: skip

Day 15: feed Ted and Dolores on page 3, on page 4 it will ask you to return Sharikov, select yes.

Day 16: skip

Day 17: skip

Day 18: skip, Sharikov will return.

Day 19: skip

Day 20: feed Ted and Dolores on page 2, on page 4 it will ask you to investigate a wire sharikov found, select yes.

Day 21: on page 4 it will ask you to hear out 2 secret agents from the government, select yes.

Day 22: skip

Day 23: skip

Day 24: skip

Day 25: feed Dolores on page 2 (Ted will die)

Day 26: on page 4 it will ask you to select a family member to go out on a recon mission, select Dolores. (Dolores will go crazy)

because no one else is in the bunker it will skip to day 29 automatically

Day 29: skip (Dolores returned from the mission)

Day 30: feed Dolores on page 2

Day 31: skip

Day 32: skip

Day 33: skip

Day 34: on page 4 it will ask you to give 4 waters or 4 soups, select either one, you should have enough.

Day 35: feed Dolores on page 2

skip until you get an event on page 4 asking you to open up the door, select yes and the run is done, this could happen on as soon as day 39 or later. feed Dolores on day 40 if you didn't get the event.

-With skip i mean spamming the arrow in the lower left corner of the book.

-Some events require you to stop spamming the arrow: going on the recon mission on day 26 and giving food or water on day 34 slow down clicking on those days as well as the days you feed the family.

-Use the medkit on a day you feed the family, this will save time on other days.

-I recommend you keep dolores instead of ted on day 25 because she can be crazy longer.

-The run ends when you click the book keep that in mind.

-Don't pay attention to any event on page 4 other than the ones i mentioned, this will decrease chances but save time.

-The reason to send Timmy instead of dolores on day 3 is because dolores needs to survive to the end and Timmy can't be alone in the bunker, also Timmy can't stay crazy for long.

-The reason to discard of Timmy on day 9 or 10 is because you don't need him and he needs food and water wich you need to save until day day 34

-After the scavenge period, you should move your cursor to the down left corner to immediatly click the book when available, keep your cursor in that position as much as possible to click the arrow or book as fast as possible when it appears
