An update to the game contains a version check, forcing us to play on the latest patch. This causes problems for the leaderboards, since some runs contain mechanics which have been patched and are now impossible to do.

After considering the new restriction on runs, as well as the high possibility of glitches used in the current glitchless category being patched in the future, we have discussed and decided to make the following changes to the leaderboards:

• The current any% leaderboard will be archived until a workaround is found to play on patch v1.0.22
• A more restrictive ruleset will ban most unintended mechanics on glitchless so runs may survive future patches
• The runs on the current glitchless leaderboard have been moved to a new any% leaderboard if they use mechanics not allowed under the new ruleset

There has also been discussion about which glitches are acceptable for glitchless. Prior to patch v1.0.26, the any% and glitchless routes were different enough to allow minor glitches in glitchless while keeping the categories different enough from each other. Since chapters cannot be skipped in any% anymore, we have decided to disallow a number of glitches previously acceptable in glitchless runs. A full list of known glitches banned for glitchless will be documented properly under the category rules so there is no confusion about this, but community discussion is always a good thing, especially if new glitches are discovered.
