I'm working on the sequel...Megametal II, and I'm trying to find some speedrunners to work with. I'd like some 1080p video footage of people speedrunning Megaman 2 that I can sync up to my renditions in Premiere and make some awesome videos to showcase the tunes and awesome speedruns. I have seen Cyghfer's runs, but I can't seem to get ahold of him, and thought maybe some other speedrunners might like to showcase their awesome gameplay. HMU if this interests you! Hey Speedrunners! I am a long time videogame enthusiast/competitor. I also happen to be a musician and I'm looking to get involved in the Speed Run community in a musical context!
Over the years, I've done a ton of game-related projects and music re-makes, the most notable likely would be my metal remix of the original Megaman 2 NES soundtrack about 20 years ago in a project I called "Megametal". It was just supposed to be a passion project, and I never imagined the response I would get when someone sync'd it with a tool assisted speed run of MM2 and put it up on youtube. It got a few hundred thousand views and people hit me up from all over the world and requested the music, I was floored. I've also remixed the Legend of Zelda tunes, some stage music from various Mortal Kombat games, and most recently I actually re-made the Theme song to TMNT and put it to a combo video actually using the Ninja Turtles in Injustice 2.
There seems to still be alot of interest in the Megametal project because someone actually sent me an email a month ago requesting new versions of those songs, and Ive had others reach out sporadically over the years requesting the same!
I'm looking to guage interest here, and I was hoping someone who knows what's up could educate me on the speed run community, the who's who, and most importantly, if this community would support my "Megametal 2 - 2019" project where I'm re-doing the entire game music. I'm already half way done actually! I was thinking about creating a Patreon account, but again, I want to guage interest first.
