It works with 1.3, 1.4 and 1.8, so use the newest patch.

The slip clips rely on leaning and strafing into a wall which I don't think is possible with a controller.

There is a link in the "README.txt"-file to a foruim post with instructions.

Or simply:

  1. Copy all the files into the "Dishonored2"-folder.
  2. Run the "patch.bat"-script.
  3. Make sure it works. (Does the game launch? Is New Game+ gone?)
  4. Optional: Delete the "¤.bak" files if you don't want 5 GB of files hanging around that do nothing.
  5. Optional: Make a backup of the ENTIRE "Dishonored2"-folder somewhere else on your hard drive, so you can downpatch later without having to wait for someone to make a downpatch.

That is because 1.4 is the patch that allowed you to use F to do that.

So you'll just have to live with it, or not use the downpatch. (or use some software to rebind F to enter if you must)

With my Dishonored 1 100% run I just submitted it as an AC run, and it Janmumrik created the new category, so my bet is if you were to submit it as an any% run the category would probably be added.

Or just wait until someone sees this thread and they create the category.

Basically very hard means guards to more damage, you get less health/mana from potions and you get it slower. In practice this means taking damage is less forgiving, but that really doesn't matter since you don't take much anyway, and that leaves us with a run that has less tricks in it, due to having less mana, which means more downtime of running and arguably easier to compete in.

tl;dr: Very Hard makes the game less interesting to run.

I made some changes to the load remover script by DrTChops, which can be found at here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Som1Lse/asl/master/dishonored2.asl

I submitted a pull request so it is likely it will automatically be downloaded in the future, but in the mean time you can open "LiveSplit.AutoSplitters.xml" in notepad or similar, find where it says "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/drtchops/asl/master/dishonored2.asl", and replace "drtchops" with "Som1Lse" to download the modified script. Then go into properties, and change the file to be read only.

Alternatively download the script file, and create a Scriptable Auto Splitter in your layout, and point it to the file.

It is based on the coordinates of where you are while loading the first map, so you need to start from a save, and it needs to be at a specific spot, so if it doesn't work that might be the cause. If you open the script file, you can paste the offsets for the variables x, y and z, into Cheat Engine and see at which position your character actually is.

Here is a cheat table with the values being used in the script: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4035066/Dishonored2ASL.CT SfxPck should be "main-game1-dunwall_escape_tower_p-sfx.pck" (without the quotes) x should be between -28.10 and -28.09 y should be between -153.97 and -153.96 z should be between 66.40 and 66.41

So whenever you sleep dart Bundry Rothwild you get a slowdown, because he is considered a target, but Abigail Ames can also be interrogated and she does not cause a slowdown. There is a slight problem with this, which is that Rothwild will begin talking to you if he sees you, which is also slow. The way to mitigate this is to damage him it which case he will be scared and will flee. So my proposed strat is to shoot Rothwild with a regular dart in the leg which won't kill but will scare him, then blink forward like you normally would, and then sleepdart Abigail and do the rest of the strat as normal.

Edit: Seems like Billie Lurk gives you an extra unskippable line, after the interrogation. RIP strat.

Yes most people speedrun Dishonored on Easy although there is nothing preventing you from doing a run on a harder difficulty for fun if you want.

You may rebind whatever you want in the options, for example I have "drink mana potion" bound to a button on my mouse, and the powers menu bound to T so they are faster accessed. The only thing rebinding scroll wheel in the ini file actually does is allow you to have multiple keys associated with the same action, which is useful for picking up items, as well as jumping rapidly, which allows skipping the start of the dream sequence.

I wrote a LiveSplit plugin which can keep track of your mana and might be helpful for learning mana routes. No one except for me is really using it (and I do not stream at the moment), but it is something I made somewhat recently, and I have not really told anyone who runs Dishonored about it before now. If you are interested it can be found here: https://github.com/Som1Lse/LiveSplit.ManaTracker The source code is also available.
