So sub-4 is going to happen to this game before much longer, using V1.22, having just posted a 4:09 this evening.
Given the fact that the game does not allow you to run a pre-update V1.00, I would like to suggest that an 'Any% Glitchless' board be entertained, so that all the folks who want to run the game won't feel like they're pissing up against the wall, so to speak, with regards to challenging for the top spot.

Hi everyone!
Got bored and decided to route a GT5 Any% for fun. Turned out to be quite good!
Rules:
- Run must be done with a clean save file. The last update the game got carried the Toyota GT86 '12 as a default car. This is allowed to be used/sold.
- No B-Spec usage.
- Timer starts when selecting 'GT Mode' and ends when you cross the finish line of Grand Valley in the GT World Cup event.
Here is a link to my run, in 4:12:44, for reference and to put a time on the board to start things off! :)
Cheers!

Hey everyone!
I'm planning on giving this run a tilt on Friday and was wondering if anyone has a Livesplit splits file they'd be willing to share, to save me having to create one from scratch?
Cheers in advance

With all this said, what does this mean for those who set times using WIn7 and the old Steam port - does that mean that anyone who runs the old version is going to have to admit the fact that they will never be able to challenge the top-20 placeholders for the game? As Enkuran said, it places a fair-sized mental barrier for runners to get over, regardless of their technical ability.
The only way around that would be to remove all Win7-based runs from the chart and then only submit Win10-based runs from there-on in.
However this would likely mean the removal of several current records, which could cause some angst.
