I've been getting a lot of 38s, some 40s, and the occasional 37 or high 36, but still haven't beaten my record yet. I don't understand how I'm so rusty but maybe I just need to marathon the game for a bit. Won't be doing it right now, but when I get the time I'll give it my best shot.
I also wanna finally do what I said I'd do and get a time for Hard mode. That should be... interesting.
From your splits it looks like the levels you did well on, you did REALLY well on. It's an impressive time. This game has a lot of potential if you can learn how to anticipate what it wants to throw at you. Maybe one day we can even get it sub-25 or so.
I haven't uploaded a run yet but I've been doing about 3 runs a day for almost a week. I'm still out of practice in managing the RNG but I'm actually better at Big Booty Bay so if I can bring the battle stages back to where I used to have them I should be able to get a good time. I'm considering uploading my 'failed' runs to youtube as well so that people can get an idea of what to prepare for in the game.
When the heatwave I'm getting is finally over (37 degrees celcius isn't a fun temperature with no aircon) I should be able to at least hit a 32 or so before the 30!
I've been so busy I forgot to log in recently, but congrats on that WR!! You've achieved your goal JJ, you've inspired me to bust out my PS2 and finally get that sub-30.
I thought about it, and you're right! I've re-upped them as miscellaneous categories :)
No one apart from myself ran the humble store version of Uurnog on here, the pre-Uurnlimited version, which is why I updated the board to Uurnlimited rather than creating a separate page. I can't run Uurnlimited at the moment due to PC troubles, but if you're interested, you can see my old Uurnog runs here:

Zoo -
and of course you can submit your own to this thread as well, if you have any lying around! But I suspect we'll all be running Uurnlimited from this point on.
For now the only categories will be the three endings. This is because Nifflas has told me that he's going to release a speedrun mode in an update, and that that mode will have several defined categories, including 100%, and will also include an in-game timer. If at that point people still want to run a category that doesn't exist, I'll be happy to add it as a miscellaneous category.
EDIT: ignore this post. It was a request to change a game's name because I thought I needed an admin to do it. I seem to remember being unable to change game names in the past, but either I was just a total noob then or that got changed. I've solved the problem now.
I second this. I'm not sure we'd need a rule to make people equip charge shot but having 'glitchless' as an option that can apply to any of the existing categories would be a good idea in my opinion. That or literally an 'any% glitchless' category. I realise All Bosses is sort of a another solution to glitched vs glitchless problem, and it's a good solution, but I personally have been avoiding a full-length run cos of how much trying to pull it off f¤¤¤s up my hands and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. The mods are right to not wanna make the leaderboard confusing but if we could just have 'glitchless' as a modifier (much like co-op and solo are for example) for the categories we already have, then I think that would avoid making things too complicated AND let people who can't/don't want to mash the weapon change button for 30+mins compete on the boards for the best time.
So I was practising Cala Maria for an IL run when out of nowhere I DIDN'T get frozen in the last section. It seems if you stick close enough to her head you just avoid the attack. I'm gonna test this more but if this is true this'd make her way less of a pain in the ass in full runs.
Video here (it should link to the right moment but if not, go to 1.07):
My guess is that the leftmost part of the attack is what freezes you, and the right hand part doesn't clip you at all.

I've been inactive too cos I've had a lot going on! I haven't actually tried speedrunning it as glitched as possible yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing anything you find ;P It should feel VERY different to playing it normally! I have no idea how the ai will start to act if you crank up the fps but I'm sure it'll be ridiculous. I'll be trying it myself too, as well as improving my Easy% time (I'm sure I can get sub-30 if I go hard enough!)
Sorry to post this here but I didn't want to submit a game request unnecessarily.
What do I do when I moderate a game page and I want to set up a separate page for a modded version of that game?
Just posting to say I'm very pleased to see that the legend who did a run of the figurespace has smashed my time haha xD This new route looks to be close to the most efficient possible I'd say, but boy will it require learning how to move right.
I'm glad you think it's cool! Glad to hear it submitted fine as well xD I don't know why I thought it hadn't but I know how dedicated you are in logging in regularly so I thought I must've messed something up on my end.
I plan to optimise the crap out of the run as much as I can when I get more free time. The other day I did a (not brilliant xD) speedrun for Nifflas' latest game, Uurnog. It's much faster to run than Knytt so it didn't take as much practice. Have you heard about it? It's actually a pretty damn amazing game.
Great :D thank you! I've managed to record a decent run and I'm gonna upload it to youtube later today. Would you be happy to create a category for me to submit it to here? I also have a map of the exact route I took: http://imgur.com/a/VkkRP
Hey there mobiusman. I'm finally ready to record a run, which I'll be doing tomorrow after more practice attempts today, and I wanted to post here with a description of the category to OK it with you before I went ahead and recorded anything.
So the run I'm gonna do is Chapter 3 any% No Disorder. I decided to do only chapter 3 because as you say, the first two chapters feel kinda redundant and I also wanted to make it both more approachable to play for new runners, as well as make it as interesting to watch as possible (as all the cool shit would occur in chapter 3). Though I too would normally almost always wanna do a full-game run.
The rules would be pretty simple:
Timing starts at the white flash when you select Chapter 3 and ends when you examine the owl statue.
You may NOT use the disorder at any point in the run.
- Does that sound good to you?
I tried Normal difficulty today, and I can say that it is much, much more difficult than Easy. Firstly, the computer is only marked on the minimap, not on the main screen, which means your eyes have to dart up to the minimap all the time to figure out where the AI is. Secondly, the trick where we outprioritised the AI to UFOs is completely reversed. The AI now outprioritises you. Furthermore the AI is smarter and gets in the way a lot more. I won't be running normal again myself, but I'm curious to see how Hard compares to this. Going to upload my normal run right now.
I'd never heard of it before now, but it looks like it'd really interesting to run because of the variety of minigames. I'm assuming that you can't rush straight to Bobby The Bully going by the fact that you're estimating 4hrs! That sounds very very intense my man but you should totally go for it. I'd love to see a run like that. Apart from Under The Skin I'm also working on a No Disorder run for a game called Knytt Underground. It's like an enormous atmospheric maze and there are a lot of different routes I could take cos you have to collect items (but not all the items), so I'm still mapping out the best path. It'll take me around an hour at first I reckon, which is nowhere near as crazy as 4! Good luck with it dude!
Mapping this is taking a hell of a long time so I totally understand why it hasn't been done yet xD but it looks like it's gonna be so damn good. When I've mapped out a route, I'd love to be able to share it on this page so others can use the resources I'm building up. When I'm done, should I just upload the images to imgur and post them in this forum? It's surprising how long this is taking actually, but I really feel it could be a great category, just from all the different skills required, and I know for sure the routing is gonna be a bomb.
My ps2 died today, but thankfully a family friend has a spare so i'll be recording on that tomorrow haha
