I’m fairly certain that Time Attack (TA) means that the run is done without doing over segments, but the runner is allowed to pause the game and timer and resume at a later point without penalty. These types of runs were prevalent in some games several years ago (although almost all major games don’t accept them anymore). I’m assuming that this is the type of run that the OP is referring to, and given the circumstances of the game I could definitely see this being a good method to use.

As much as I have respect for our moderation team, I must agree with what Darpey and others have said. This has to be one of the easiest games to verify runs for, and yet it has one of the longest waiting periods that I've seen. I understand that there are lots of runs that need to be attended to, but most of them are 5 minutes and x seconds long. There are more active and much longer games out there than this one that have faster verification; I'm certain of it. This really shouldn't be the case, especially now that we have 14 mods for this game alone.
Whenever I try to change the background for my theme it automatically reverts back to the one I had prior to changing it. Is something wrong with this feature right now or is there something I should see if I'm doing incorrectly?
You can do this with any vine in the game. Also this works in the older versions of the ROM as well.

Most NES games accept runs done on the NES classic. Beware that you will automatically lose a very small amount of time due to the difference of frame rates between it and the original NES.
As someone who was once in your shoes, I recommend using a keyboard if you’re playing on emulator. If you’re dead set on using a controller, then buy an adapter instead. They only cost like $10 and allow you to use an official NES controller for input.

And to answer the question in the thread title, an emulator is any program or application that allows you to emulate gameplay of video games through a computer without the need of a physical console or cartridge/disk.
