Hey folks! With help from @andou88 we have made an update to the leaderboards for the game. Everything is now set up by level, with sub categories for specific bikes or rules. This layout will give us an opportunity to grow our runs and expertise on many levels, pun intended.
Please make sure you check all updated rules and options before submitting runs!
We are also hoping that this layout will extend to the other games in the series. I will be updated Road Rash 1 in the next few days and hope to see RR3 making the same choice as well. If you have any questions or comments feel free to post.
First of all hello Pilotwings community, I absolutely love and enjoy playing this game until my thumbs hurt and it will be a pleasure posting my runs. I know this game is not popular, however I noticed that there are some differences between the NTSC and Japan releases of this game such as the obvious characters loading faster for JAP vs our North American releases. Would it be possible to categorize the two, if not separated, at least show which version is being used for the run? I feel that perhaps the Japanese version of the game may have an upper hand on load times.
I'd like to see some individual level leaderboards available for this game since there's a lot of inconsistency on whether you can get a speed boost randomly by the game in a full run, which is basically the deciding factor of whether or not you will get top 3 or 1st place. I think it would be fun, give another competing vibe other than Level 1 or beating the full game.
From the RR3 forums, @Redlof mentions that he had much faster times IGT vs RTA, and was found due to loading times of the Gens emulator being quicker than others, therefore giving a better time during a Real Time Attack. This seems to be the same for the RR2 runs for WR. I have looked at the videos and some users have had much faster times IGT versus RTA despite having a quick upgrade and fast start track selection.
For fairness I believe a standard should be set to make the game more competitive and accurate by banning the use of Gens32 and only having Kega Fusion, Bizhawk being used, as well as having the official timing for the Road Rash series to be In-Game Time.

If one game (Road Rash 3) uses IGT for the official time, would it make sense to have IGT be used for all 3 games?
