I notice https://drivemad.io/ is listed as a permitted website though that's now the wrong game, instead it's a game called "Funny Mad Racing".
First select the level you want to submit to, then select "Submit run"
Yeah, being tedious was just one of the reasons we mostly banned it. I think it's analogous to the cutscene skips glitch in the original game (version 1.3) which also required a separate save file (according to my understanding, I don't know the details).
Yeah, unfortunately (depending on your view) we've decided to ban this glitch in the main Any% category because of its tedious setup. We might allow it in a separate category if there's interest, similar to how the original game has a True Any% category allowing all skips and glitches.
Amazing find! We could in theory use this to skip straight to "Angler" in Any% runs, though the setup is a bit tedious (skipping levels beforehand makes it faster). I've let other runners know and we'll see what to do with it.
There's a few games I didn't make categories for (either because they are trivial or pure RNG) that could be included in a multi-game run:
- Airplane High Low
- Head of the Solar System
- It's Not the Same
- Jumbled Jets
- What Comes Next?
There might be some others I'm missing since a lot of the other 'games' are apparently purely educational.
I'm thinking we'd just allow multiple tabs since navigating the Clubhouse is broken in some places and it just adds a bunch of loading time which could be unfair for lower-end devices.
A new category called 'All Difficulties' has been added in the Misc. category tab. In this category you have to beat both difficulties in any order (probably starting with Hard and then Easy). Unlike regular games, all times are measured with real-time, though you can use the in-game times for reference. See the category rules for more details and feel free to ask if you have more questions.
The category is currently experimental, so it might get archived if there's not much interest in it, though there's already a few runs posted. In a few weeks I'll determine if it has enough traction in the community and then decide if we'll keep it. Good luck to those running this category.
Might wanna highlight those videos so Twitch doesn't auto-delete them ;)
From what I gather he doesn't have much of an origin story, he was banned for similar dumb behavior and he hasn't changed much for the better. As for why he's still around spamming with alts, my guess is a general lack of maturity.
The Google Series mod (RedMooschrom) can add a new page if we want one. Other than that changing the leaderboard name can be achieved by a mod submitting a support ticket.
It's not unprecedented for a popular game to have multiple pages, Minecraft has a Category Extensions and an Unofficial Category Extensions for example.
If we just rename this page then none of the runs would have to be moved. The current URL path "snake_game_ce" could even stay the same if we didn't want to break any URLs, the new Category Extensions could be something like "snake_game_new_ce".
I think it would make the most sense given how all the runs here are just slow speed. Src has a "Gamemode" tag that would be appropriate here as it says, "This type indicates that a mode in the game is played and focused on as opposed to the entire game."
Then we could add a new page that's actually a Category Extensions with various interesting categories, probably from various mods like Chess Mod, Mouse Mod, Visibility Mod, etc. (Not saying every possible category should be added, probably just a sampling.)
I found a browser extension that lets me change the favicon of any site, so this is no longer much of an issue for me (I changed the GS Mods favicon to the classic apple). However, a change might be worth considering to help others who suffer from having too many tabs open.
