Analysis of Lake Hylia Bomb Drops - includes information about flex drops
Where is this information relevant?
In routes where you don't have Sling as Child or Bow as Adult, or if you have 5 hearts or less, it is impossible to get flex bomb drops.
If you're collecting bombs and DO have bow/sling with more than 5 hearts, then ensuring you have 5 bombs or less can double your odds of getting bomb drops on each drop for rocks and bushes. It also makes it possible for many enemies who normally never drop bombs to drop them.
