New and Old Versions

**Hey speedrunners,**

Getaway Shootout has had a major overhaul in 2023, compared to when it released in August of 2018. The update introduced two new maps, as well as slightly slower physics.
*You can find the different versions under the "Resources" tab on Speedrun.com*

# When should I use the old/new version?

## Old Version (2018-2023)

- 3 Maps and 5 Maps speedruns
- Kills speedruns (new version works as well here)
- Individual level speedruns that aren't Terminal or Plane

## New Version (2023-)

- Terminal or Plane speedruns
- 4 Maps speedruns (start on Plane)
- Time Trial speedruns

New Routing (as of 27 Aug 2023)

**Hey there, after Getaway Shootout's new update, the map order has been changed with the addition of new maps.**

# Here are the new metas:

**3 Maps (ANY VERSION):** Market ➡ Bus ➡ Train

**4 Maps (NEW VERSION):** Plane ➡ Market ➡ Bus ➡ Train

**5 Maps (OLD VERSION):** Train ➡ Office ➡ Market ➡ Bus ➡ Train

Routing of the Game

Getaway Shootout actually has an order to the way that the maps are generated, and you can use it in order to get the fastest times possible. The order is as follows:

Train --> Building
Building --> Market
Market --> Bus
Bus --> Train

Fastest Starting Maps:
3 Maps = Market
4 Maps = Any Map
5 Maps = Train

Video formats for Submission of Runs

According to rules, we accept the following site links, I have listed them in order of the moderators preference for verification:

YouTube: Upload your video and then set it to either Unlisted or Public. Then share the link with us and put it in the "Video URL" section. **If possible ALWAYS TRY SUBMIT ON YouTube!**

Google Drive: Upload your video and then **make sure to share it with a public link!** I see and reject far too many people who make this mistake, so please do that. :>

Vimeo: Upload your video and share the link in the "Video URL" section.

Google Photos: Should work the same as Google Drive, make sure the video is public.

Wall Jumping

HOW TO WALL JUMP FROM WALL TO WALL - 
You got to be standing at least the elevator length in this game or 3 of your characters from the wall and then you want to press the button either W, E, I, or O depending on what way you're facing/what direction the wall is then hold down the button and release it once your character direction is 80 to 70° then once your about to touch the parallel wall press the opposite button and keep doing it till you touch the roof

HOW IT WORKS FOR SINGLE WALL JUMPS - 
The glitch can work on any level but it only matters on the distance between the roof and the floor, the size of the platform you stand on, and the distance between you and the wall/wall to the opposite wall

MOST EFFICIENT SPOT - 
The best place to perform it is at the beginning of the office level where the pillar is and from where the first player spawns/last place player there in the perfect position for a speedy wall jump and all you have to do is jump backwards touch the wall jump with the opposite button and usually for me I get into the first elevator usually faster than making 2nd player move out of the way by jumping or when you're trying to get pass the Bot players.

DIFFERENTIATING BETWEEN SPEEDS - 
(figuring it out now will be up in under a week)

DO DIFFERENT CHARACTERS AFFECT IT - 
it doesn't matter what avatar you use it just matters on your position angle and height of jump to perform it.
