blue is supposed to be faster and consistent, I've seen a couple of my friends climbing the crate but in my opinion it's a lot harder to do and even if you do make it, you will probably have the same amount of time as crouching under the crate.
The crate route is one those fraction of a second time saves that doesn't seem worth it.
