if it does, I've not known about it for over 5 years haha
Could just make it Gradius/Salamander discord, Orgins Collection releases next month, might wanna do something with that :) ?
I just wanna close with, we're never gonna be best of friends. But I did unblock you @CzaR - I'm getting too old for this lol and I've already run this game. i did post a little something in the big20 channel too, im healing! I just genuinely wish the best towards the moderation team and to me nowadays it's just fun for a shmup to get some much needed love. We have more of those!! Gradius II cough.
Ya im sorry for all of this mess people. It sounds like there's no evidence against anyone, so I guess Charlies time should be a 31 whatever MTL counted it to, and MTL is wr holder. Oh im so relieved we got to the bottom of that
case closed bois. Sounds like nobody did anything wrong, problem solved! Glad we sorted that out lol
B-but... SRC says 21 days :'( I'm sorry, I guess I messed up by assuming SRC rules mattered :'( Don't hurt my feelings, im just human
sounds like every emulation submission before this rule is cheated. I'm sorry people, I should have known :(
Seriously Czar and Lynn, if ya'll want Gradius series mods after you deal with this headache, im happy to delegate since this guy likes these games so much. I AM HAPPY to give you more power there so I don't have to deal with this anymore lol. Just send me a message later and I'll add ya'll
also what are you even doing here dude, your account was made 24min ago and you're just joining in on this alone??
I stayed quiet for years until some other runners started notcing something was weird with his submission. The moment they noticed something iffy, he gets rid of the evidence and leaves. If he's innocent then why act this way?
@wddwef I never said I had evidence, go back and read https://www.speedrun.com/lifeforce/forums/xkqlf :)
If people can prove me cheating, let them! I'm not taking down my vods and deleting my src account like I got caught with my hands in the cookiejar.. You also seem to fail to understand the concept of STRICTER RULES FOR WORLD RECORD SUBMISSIONS. I trust this community to do right objectively for everyone. And if they find out I've been cheating, they are really good at their job, because that's news to even me LOL.
Sounds to me like your boi couldn't framecount properly though, so maybe leave it to the mods to sort things out :)
All I can say is, they killed me as mod here so they won. I'm not gonna say anything more about it because what's done is done :) Czar's at least been here with me back when I was still mod, for at least 5y and he continues to be here. So all history in terms of reviews and submissions and rule changes - he was always here when it happened.
So either I guess he was ok with it all or he just didn't check in enough to have an opinion. I'm actually not throwing him under the bus here despite him ultimately being my demise :P I'm just saying, this was not a sole dictatorship, there were other mods and they could have spoken up and had me gone ages ago if they truly saw mismanagement.
Anyone is welcoem to go through my videos, that's fine. I have never cheated, I will say that. I know FCEUX is outdated, Mesen didn't exist back then. I didn't wanna mix different emulators because shmups dont give much leeway in terms of timesaves when optimized, and having various emulators allowed with different lag emulation felt more messy - so I just stuck with the one for everyone.
Lastly, I took over from Toad - he modded me into this because at the time I had actively ran this, gradius nes and the GB installments. That being said, SRC themselves doesn't really provide a formal education on how to be a moderator, this is all volunteer work. By that I mean, they don't teach you the ins and out of any universal setup come emulation specific rules. how to detect discrepancies or any of that. If you have that knowhow and background coming in then YES, PLEASE TAKE MOD SEAT!!! SRC is extremely fragile in the sense that this is not an organization with employees, ANYONE can moderate. I did the best I could given I have zero background on a technical field. But that is SRC in a nutshell, if better more suited peopel step up, GREAT! I've never claimed to be an expert, i'm just a runner trying to keep it fair competition. So if people take issue with some of my choices then absolutely, I can take responsibility for that, as much as SRC understands they allow people like me to be put in these positions without knowledge/background check on how to handle cases like these.
As an emu runner myself, I know we get alot of extra eyes on us. Which is why I've never had 1 single run rejected myself because I make sure I read rules for every game I run. And it is alot and across many platforms.. I'm also an absolute pleb with speedruns so everyone can beat me without trying lol, but for people in the top like the former boi here... That gets stricter, spec on emu. Ultimately I kept him up there for YEARS, depsite feeling something was off with his submissions, but I didn't call him out: I waited for others to notice something I couldn't. Apparently people did..
We know why im gone, it's not because I was a super corrupt moderator, it's because I was against the big 20 score category - and whatever, done is done :P But I absolutely am too stupid to even start splicing vods, and def too stupid to know how to detect them. And let's be honest, alot of people here can confirm they don't find me all that smart: ya, fair?
That being said, I wish you all good. Really! Charlie you're so badass for beating a time I didn't even know was humanly possible at this point. I felt so bad for Neetsu whom is an amazing japanese runner across alot of shmup games. And they had their time beat by someone I suspected was a fraud for years. I'm happy to see Neetsu getting some of their records back <3.
Oh and, he changed name once and returned with submissions for src. Keep an eye out for any Chinese shmup runners coming out with amazing times fast. He'll pop up again prob in about 2-3y, that's how long it took last time.
The reason emulation rules was so strict for this game was due to this guy, he threw a tantrum publicly in src forums about it once, they smacked that boi down hard for that
audit log confirms runs for gradius 1 and 2 was deleted by someone 4h ago
I might still have him up on gradius 1 and 2, those for sure should be taken down most likely.
For reference, I've suspected this guy been cheating for years, I just could never prove it, I giggled hard when someone modded him for the game lol. GG Charlie :)
it hurts everytime a vod is lost ya, I've never had it happen. I know twitch messed up alot of vods a while back. Always local record and store on external harddrives for safe keeping!
Here is a good example of a reset

Here is a terrible example of someone using a load state to start runs
https://www.speedrun.com/mslug/runs/y6j0jn6m
I tried the Anthology collection on PS2, next time press select in-game: there's a reset option. Include that and do that for ALL SUBMISSIONS in the future. That's just the ps2 version, but a reset is required for ALL VERSION RELEASES.
Another thing we need to touch is the inclusion of selecting game difficulty. If that's not visibly showcased, I'm not gonna bother review it. Moderators should not have to guess these things, that goes for every game out there. Typically you include option menus before run start to showcase settings for these things, some runs might include it post-credits like "congratulations, you beat hard mode: try your luck on very hard next..." or something around those lines. But this rule is in place to make life easier when old mods whom might know if 1 specific enemy 500 hours into the run might die from 4587 shots or 4589, but new mods (hello) should not have to guess: it should be featured before the run starts.
If these rules were in place from the start by old mods, it would make my life easier now: and it would make life for the next mod after me for when I might be done here 9 years from now: Even Easier!
