I'll try to approve runs a bit quicker along with adding Manki as a moderator, that way if I miss a run they can go through it too. I've seen that strats have been lit 👀
I pasted the instructions to the guides portion of the page, good luck and play fast!
I was just practicing the strat I came up with, and it turns out if you go to the generator, you can interrupt the line sooner. We can either save it for another dialogue skip, or use it here.
I figured out how to get first carbine rifles text. it involves holding the phone up on the sections where the game gives you a scripted phonecall or text. I'll publish a video whenever I can, but I'm sure it works pretty well every time I do it.
If you want to try it yourself:
- Before Simeon calls during "Complications", pull up your phone (the reference for my drive is when I see ammunation). this will skip (x [I will edit this post when I actually see what this skips])
- Hold up the phone to skip Jimmy's call on Father/Son, this one will skip (y [again, will edit when I redo each one.])
there might be more I'm forgetting at the moment, but this is a good start. Even though the phone system may not be as important in V, it's still worth trimming down the time as much as we possibly can and remove the "phonecall RNG" that's leftover in the game. Please help me in finding what phonecalls can be blocked etc.
I know not many people still run the game, but I won't let this game die.
I've been experimenting again.
It turns out that when you're in a taxi, and the dude on the radio offers for a ride, it's the perfect setup. Here's the steps I found out so far:
- Get a taxi (I used Franklin)
- Pick up phone, and pull up a contact 2.5. Wait for taxi guy to offer a pickup
- Start phonecall but also do next step almost instantaneously) 3.5. Accept the pickup (continue to hold until phone convo is over) ??????? there is no step 4, I haven't figured it out yet.
Golf%! I think it's time for us to add our first... non storyline driven category? We've done a couple races already, and I think it's time to set the actual rules. I personally like the rules I initially set up, where we start our splits in the normal spot, and end on the final hole. it sets up the great story of our hero, Michael De Santa being tired of his criminal life, and has to relax by playing golf OpieOP.
I was reading up on Rockstar's support pages, and found this: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200195177-How-to-change-the-language-in-Grand-Theft-Auto-V
I became instantly interested in figuring out weather or not any of the other languages were faster. I experimented with getting to franklin and lamar's split, and it was almost 6 seconds faster than the english version. I need to do a bit of more experimentation, but I'm quite shocked at how much speed I got from just changing the language. You have to change it in your console's settings first, unfortunately.
Got a time (used lightly, not sure if exact) of 1:57:45, and my arms are literally spaghetti right now. I made the jump perfectly on Chop, got the YOLO jump on Casing the jewelry store, and I only died 5 times thanks to a terrible Daddy's Little Girl.
I started sweating near the end, but I'm proud to finally do a whole run.
Edit: and then of course I just noticed I didn't record it for review. All I have is a picture ;-;
