I don't think that will happen, since the clear argument presented will be that if you want to play with BLJs, use the original Mario 64. Also, I don't think there are many categories in speedrunning as a whole that use a specific mod. The one thing that may happen is that a separate game will be created for the BLJ mod, but that seems excessive. Overall, I don't think it will happen and you should probably resign yourself to the fact that you'll have to get what you need to run the original Mario 64 if you want BLJs.
It IS annoying, but running on 3DAS is very restrictive as you can't run any CEs or ILs. Loading times probably do affect this decision, but in terms of ILs, I don't think load times should matter much if at all.
2 things: 1: Yes! This sounds cool. I would be willing to run this if I could learn the route. My run wouldn't be very good, but I could make it happen. 2: There could be sub-categories for Mario and Luigi, like there are for most CEs.
I think you might be able to do with none, but at least min powerups would be cool. There are a lot you can skip or avoid if you think about it.
there are lots of categories that are just putting restrictions on a no restrictions category, and it would be a category extension obviously
I've done some Mario Galaxy Any% in 3DAS, and that sounds like a cool category! I don't really have any good way to record runs, which is why I have nothing submitted, but I would be willing to run this so it could be a category. I could maybe record it very simply, like with my phone. I would need to learn the route and it wouldn't be very good, but it would exist.
but they accept switch for category extensions, right?!?! if so, that's dumb
Yeah, there are plenty of speedruns people do that aren't on the leaderboards, but that's a cool idea, especially with a higher number of stars/shines so you have more options and optimization
Maybe there will be 3das ce in the future, which would be awesome, but yeah not yet
from which tree or ship? I don't think any are close enough
