Permanent demo storage requirement
Rule change: "Demos of your latest PB have to be available permanently to the moderators, either online via the download link, or on your local harddrive if the download link expires."
Some of the formerly submitted and verified runs are missing demo files and cannot be viewed or checked anymore. Demo files of your PBs (not of your obsolete runs) have to be available at all times, either by saving them permanently online, or by being able to provide them directly to the moderators if the link provided in your verified PBs does not work anymore (for example due to deletion of the uploaded demos by the hosting site).
For permanent storage online, you usually have to have an account on a platform to ensure your uploads will not be deleted after some time. You can use platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Mediafire.
If demos cannot be made available for your PB on the leaderboard at any given time, it can result in a rejection of your run on the leaderboard.
This thread is going to show current rule changes for this leaderboard. If you follow this game on srdc, you are going to be notified about these changes in this thread by the bell-messenger in the right top corner next to your nickname.
We hope this helps to keep you up to date. All major rule changes will be reported here.

Turns out the damage cancelling we now frequently use is not due to sleeping, but due to pulling out the PDA, not only for sleeping but also for the function "stats" in the menu (bindable function in controls). Using "stats" instead of "sleep" is also faster because to use "sleep" for the first time you need to skip a menu explaining what sleep does. Damage Cancelling was discovered to work this way (the way we use it today as well) by cliffs.
Hello Blackmelor,
it is not necessary to record a video of the game with OBS or the like. If you want to submit a run, the only thing that counts is demo recording in the game via bunnymod xt. That doesn't cost your pc a lot of resources. A lot of players do it that way often because their pcs can't local record videos as well.
Have a look at this guide to setup your game:

Hey there,
for all people interested in running or learning about running the game:
Greetings qd
Hey Cipher,
most of those mods were coming into the game from Half-Life orange leaderboards, the main campaign. Mods for They Hunger came and left again over time without being removed from the list. Nobody is active atm besides myself atm.
Greetings qd
As long as it is just the change of graphics and not the change of content as Mucus said, I wouldn't just yet disallow it. I'd like to see what he's talking about and we can decide then.
Also I don't consider the change of graphics settings a huge impact on the game. It has been normal in other games as well to change graphics settings for runs or for multiplayer as well. This however is a disputed topic and different communities have different opinions about it.
I'm not sure this shouldn't be legit. In other games it is normal to change graphic settings and set the game to fullbright for example. I'd like to see it to know what you mean so we can talk about it further.
Hey Mucus.Middleton,
there currently is no seperate category for Vanilla Doom3. The discussion has been brought up to create a Vanilla Doom3 category, but nobody did runs to showcase such a run yet and the interest seems to be small. FYI: https://www.speedrun.com/doom3/thread/zehll
If you want to do a run and show it for further discussion, feel free to do so. I don't think any additional mods should be allowed. What mods did you have in mind anyway?
Greetings qd
Hey wayne,
for whatever reason I didn't see you posted your message in the forums, so sorry my answer is a little delayed. In principle, it is possible to have an Xbox-category for the leaderboards. Like the discussion about having seperate Vanilla Doom3 leaderboards ( https://www.speedrun.com/doom3/thread/zehll ), my first call would be: do you have an example run? And are there other runners interested in this? Even if you're the only one for now, it would still be possible, but would have to be discussed a little further.
Greetings qd
Hey combat,
what we could also use would be a load-remover. But I'm not currently capable of doing that. Maybe we find somebody to help us with this.
Greetings qd
I'm really not sure a lot of people would like to run vanilla Doom 3. If others want to run that category, we can have it. In any case we'd need an example run to see that somebody really does it in the end.
What's the opinion of the other runners? Do you want a vanilla category?
Hey ReavzAU,
it is possible to submit a run for the Doom 3 Vanilla Version. It will be much slower though. I think the Livesplit timer we use for the RBDOOM 3 Source port will also support timing out the loads of Vanilla Doom 3 version.
Greetings qd
