Try changing the controller plugin by going to Options > Settings > Plugins > Input plugin > then select Jabo's DirectInput7 1.6. I had the same problem and it worked for me. Let me know if it helped

So I can do buffers just fine, but it's so annoying to do it. I have to hold the controller in such a weird way to hit the pause button. Is there a way a can remap the pause button? And if there is a way, is it allowed in speedruns?
