Will you accept emulator times or not at all? just got back into this game and was thinking about submitting some times.

they generally do NOT like adding addition categories for games like that though, trust me i have tried!

Still waiting for any sort of reply on the subject, as much of the difficulty in classic comes from keeping your objective completed until the end of the scenario. otherwise there's literally no reason to run the game.

I see we have a new mod and would very much so like to have a dialoge on the subject, as i feel it's a valid complaint and would make sense to have a different ruleset for classic.

RCT classic is a remaster of the first two games. Rct classic has features that arent available in either of the other games (rides designer which allows you to import custom rides for quicker runs and the ability to speed up time) and even some changed features such as some roller coasters being altered from rct1 expansions.

The ability to speed up time is very interesting as it allows full level speedruns to be done finally, which previously was not done due to having to wait 10 years for a level to complete.

Current as is, all three currently ran rollercoaster tycoon games (Roller coaster tycoon, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, and Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic) are under the same umbrella of Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 when speedruns are noted on this website. I agree with the games being under the same umbrella of Rollercoaster tycoon (as is rollercoaster tycoon 1 and 3 currently) However i do not agree with RCT 2 and Classic being under RCT 1.

RCT 1 and 2 are different games clearly, and it doesnt make sense to have them both be under RCT 1.

It also has separate runs that cant be completed in the other games, like all scenarios ect. Scenarios are also grouped differently and unlocked differently in RCT Classic.

I am writing this post as i have been brick walled pretty much by the RCT community in regards to this. I currently run all 3 games however i would like to bring a bit more legitimacy to the game. it's about setting up your early game before going for the time skip, on top of when to use your promotional stuff.

Also, can i suggest showing classic times on the main level leaderboard screen as well? instead of only seeing them after navigating into the individual levels.

Wouldnt it make sense to have to get to the finish screen of the mission since you can now speedup time?

I feel the fact that runs using the original ruleset (Which was in place because of how long you had to wait to actually complete the mission) shouldnt be allowed in the classic category.

I mean why would you accept my runs in said category, if you were just going to accept the original ruleset (In which i am clearly running out the clock to get to the finish scenario screen)?
