I believe linking one video as the main video then putting your buddies in the description of the video would be more efficient. To your second question no, only one of you needs the timer. I don't have much more advice other than you and your friend streaming on twitch. I've said this once, timing starts one frame before the title screen disappears. and the end is the exact frame "press space to restart" appears. All runs have been retimed with retime.mcbe.wtf, and their screens appear before yours. Times have only been changed by a bit. So thanks, but no.
