Thanks for all your help :), I think i pretty much got it down now!!

Hi, new speedrunner here, and decided to try speedrunning undertale as my first game. I have trouble doing the jetpack skip and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I do the text overflow (text storage) or whatever I should call it, pretty easily which lets me skip the first part (mettaton cooking) but I always see my character just waiting at the jetpack area as the screen scrolls towards my character. I've tried many things but still am not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I've been following xandertje10's guides and its been extremely helpful. Sorry if this was a stupid question. Just didn't know where else to ask.
