Hi There!

I started speedrunning this game a couple years ago and have recently picked it back up. I noticed that the rules on when to start timing your run is the same for every single category except for Mod with Payment 10,000 Points and Mod with Payment 30,000 Points respectively.

For every category, the rules are: "Time starts the frame your character moves after starting the game and ends when you reach 10,000 points." As for Mod with Payment 10,000 Points, the rules are: "Time starts at selection of starting the game and ends when you reach 10,000 points."

Mod with Payment 10,000 Points and 30,000 Points are the only two categories that do not take into account first movement as the indicator on when to start timing your run, which I believe is an overlooked mistake. I remember way back when the rules were something along the lines of, "Timing starts when you click Start", and as the game became more popular to run, new moderators properly adjusted the rules to account for first movement, but those changes did not carry over to these two categories.

I am requesting that the Start Time for Mod with Payment 10,000 Points and Mod with Payment 30,000 Points be adjusted to first movement, meaning the first frame the Doodler itself moves in the Head Start Canon (not the Head Start Canon moving itself). I am also requesting that the times for the verified runs be re-timed for consistency.

I sincerely hope you take this request into consideration. Thank you!

Attention Everyone!

I hope this message finds you well. The Monster Jam: Urban Assault webpage has been completely revamped so everyone can submit speedruns that were played on their respective consoles. The reason why the webpage had to undergo a complete makeover is because some console versions had a handful of specific game mechanics that were viewed as advantageous compared to other versions. Some of the tracks in the Nintendo DS version are nonexistent in the other console versions while others are the same track but given a completely different name. To be fair to everyone running this game, every speedrun category has their own console exclusive sub-category. We believe this will simplify the leaderboards by organizing each run based on the console the runner played on.

If anyone has any comments, questions, or concerns, please let me know by replying to this thread or by reaching out to me in our Discord, which is linked to the webpage, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and stay safe.

Sincerely, Hoopla Fish

Hello everyone! It has been almost a month since the last time I posted a forum stating how I would be revamping the NERF: N-Strike webpage. I am happy to announce that I have finally found the time and made the much-needed changes to the site.

One of the issues this page had was being over saturated with too many speedrunning categories when there are not many speedrunners for the game to begin with. If we were to see an influx of new runners, I will make the proper adjustments accordingly.

Another issue was how remarkably similar some of the speedrunning categories were to one another. To fix this problem, I have omitted All Free Play and All Free Play Elite. The main Any% category for the time being is Mission Mode Any%. The speedrunning categories under “Miscellaneous” are essentially smaller Any% runs as they consist primarily the game’s Individual Levels (IL’s).

The Individual Levels themselves are by far the most popularly ran categories for NERF: N-Strike. The only change I made here was clarifying the rules regarding to the start and ending time, as well as a couple other details. Please review the rules for each category to further your understanding if need be.

If anyone as any comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to respond to this thread post, or reach out to me through my other social media handles. I will get back to you as soon as possible. I apologize for my abstinence from this game’s site and will do the best I can as your Super Moderator to make sure everything runs smoothly. Thank you again for your patience and I look forward to all the exciting runs this site will see!

Hello everyone! I have noticed that this game has been getting more run submissions, which is great! I honestly did not expect to be handed the Super Moderator status so I apologize for the delay in verifying everyone's runs. I promise you all that I will get to them soon.

Since this game is becoming more popular, I want to revamp the speedrun rules to make it as clear and concise as possible in regards to timing. With that said, all runs submitted will not be rejected. The times for those run might be subjected to adjustment, but that's really it.

If anyone as any comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to respond to this thread post, or reach out to me through my other social media handles. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding!

Hey everyone! I'm new to speedrunning this game and was wondering if there was a community Discord for Doodle Jump?

You may select the level map from either Speedster or Quick Action when speedrunning: Race Circuit Any%, Eliminator Any%, Head-to-Head Any%, and Stadium Racing Any%. It does not make a difference if you choose a level map from one section of the game to another.

Let me make it abundantly clear of what categories are to be recorded in RTA and IGT for Monster Jam: Urban Assault. World Series Any% and Speederster Any% are the only categories that are to be recorded in Real Time Attack, or RTA. In-Game Timer, or IGT, is not permitted.

Under Championship, Speedster is comprised of individual categories: Race Circuit, Eliminator, Head-to-Head, and Stadium Racing. Every category has their own level maps, respectively. Every level map within Race Circuit, Eliminator, Head-to-Head, and Stadium Racing is to be recorded using only the In-Game Timer, or IGT. Real Time Attack, or RTA, is not permitted.

Any runs disobeying these very simple rules will not be verified. Please understand the practical reasons behind these rules. Thank you!

Hey there! I completely forgot I had this game so when I found it I was pleasantly surprised! It is a lot of fun! The controls take a little bit to get used to, but other than that the concept is pretty cool! I'm glad to see the game has its own Speedrun.com page! I plan on running the IL's first before I give the main categories a try.

The following rules are applied for every Score Attack Category as of today: 500% 500% (No. Jr. Street) 1,000%

Runner must display the In-Game Time in addition to the Real Time.

In-Game Time and the Real Time must be submitted only to the hundredth second. For Example: 1:50.35 (minute:seconds:tenth-hundredth)

The In-Game Timer for any match display hundredths of a second so there is no need to add in thousandths of a second for the In-Game Time and the Real Time. (This is not Super Mario Bros. which has an official frame rate rule.) When submitting a run, simply leave the thousandth second as a zero (0).

Every run must have a starting In-Game Timer of 3:20.00 (Three minutes and twenty seconds). You can adjust this in Settings. The reason for this new rule is to make submissions and each verification much more authentic and easier.

These rules are implemented starting today. Any runs submitted before this time today gets a pass.

The Speedrun.com page for Mario Hoops 3-on-3 has been officially revamped as of Thursday, April 19th, 2018.

What The Revamp Consisted Of:

Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup, Rainbow Cup and All Cups now have their own variables to choose from: Difficulty - Normal and Hard.

500%, 500% (No Jr. Street) and 1,000% are listed as variables under the newly titled category, "Score Attack".

The Dribble Race Time Trials now have their own variables to choose from: Course - Peach's Castle, Sunshine Road, and Rainbow Road.

Why A Revamp?

When I originally ran this game, there were only 2 submitted runs on the page. After I became a Moderator, I created more categories for myself and future speedrunners to run. When I got promoted to a Super Moderator, I dedicated more time in making more categories with appropriate rules. As time went by, more and more players started submitting runs and the game's Speedrun.com page popularity grew under the "Mario Sports series". After about 2 years, the game's meta has come a long way as well as its page. It came to my attention that the aesthetics of the page itself were unflattering and cluttered with long category names. After some practice, I was able to figure out how to properly edit the page to give it a sharper, more intuitive and simplistic look.

Moving Forward:

The "Suggestion Box" for new categories will be closed until more runners come into the scene. I do not want this page to be saturated with categories without the proper amount of runners involved. I would like the "Total Number of Categories : Speedrunners" ratio be relatively balanced so we will not be taking any more suggestions at the moment. We appreciate the interest, but there are plenty of categories to run. We hope you enjoy the page's new look and direction.

I am in the process of polishing off my 3-part tutorial series on how to run Waffle Boy's Jungle Adventure. All I ask is for your patience as they will be up soon. Thank you so much and I apologize for any inconvenience. I look forward to checking out any submitted runs!

Have a great day!

I omitted the time limits from the cup categories. In the beginning, I had no idea that each category would have so much progression in saving time so I made it a requirement that a video submission has to be faster than x amount of time. However, by doing that, I realize now that it could be unconvincing to some runners who may want to give the game a try. So with that being said, I got rid of that detail. In the grand scheme of things, it is not a big change in the slightest since run submissions have slowed down. It is a great step in the right direction to properly revamp the whole page itself. - Hoopla Fish

As of right now, two brand-new, miscellaneous categories just went live: 500% and 500% (No Jr. Street). The reason I decided to make these two new categories was because after running 1,000% for a while, I realized more and more how unlikely it is to get a decent run due to the RNG factor for Jr. Street, which can turn people off to the idea of running it. With 1,000%, you have the availability of playing on any Basketball court, but if you truly want to get a stellar time, you essentially have to play on Jr. Street and hope for the best that you end up getting phenomenal RNG. Playing on any other court is significantly slower and less optimal.

So with that being said, 500%, or “Fast 500%” as you can also call it, has the same concept as 1,000%, except you have to score only 500 points or more. You have the availability to select any court to play on, including Jr. Street.

As for 500% (No Junior Street), the concept is still the same, however, you cannot select Jr. Street for your run (as the category’s name implies). Having this extra category can encourage people to run it as if it was like a Dribble Race Time Trial where instead of crossing the finish line with 100 coins, you only have to score 500 points. Also, RNG is not nearly as much of a burden like it is on Jr. Street so this category creates a larger variety for runners as they can pick any court they personally enjoy while not worrying as much on the RNG turnout.

For future reference, 250%, 750%, etc. are not going to be created as that would be redundant. Fast 500% and 500% (No Jr. Street) are supposed to help expand the variety of possibilities that 1,000% does not necessarily offer. Happy dribbling!

Come and check out the new "Miscellaneous" category for Mario Hoops 3-on-3 - 1,000%!

Inspiration for this new category came to me from running the main cup categories while also running the Dribble Race Time Trails! There is not a definitive, optimal time for this category so give it a shot and have fun! Make sure to check out the rules as they are extensive, but helpful!

I hope to see some submissions as I believe this be a fun, innovation category to run!

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment!

Aside from the regular cups to run (Mushroom, Flower, Star and Rainbow), you can now submit Dribble Race Time Trial runs as well!

Dribble Race Time Trials is located under "Challenges" on the main screen. From here, you will see: Practice, Special Shot and Dribble Race Time Trial. NOTE: If this extra mode is not available, you will have to first complete all the tutorials under "Practice" in order to unlock it.

There are 2 Dribble Race Time Trial maps - Peach's Castle and Sunshine Road. In order to unlock the third map, Rainbow Road, you must first beat the already existing record for both Peach's Castle (45 seconds) and Sunshine Road (55 seconds). Once you do so, Rainbow Road will be unlocked with an already existing record of 1 minute.

Run submissions are to be recorded using the in-game timer already displayed on the screen. RTA will not be recognized for these 3 new miscellaneous categories.

TIP: Know how to effectively use the technique, "Quick Dash", while also memorizing the patterns of the coin (?) panels in order to beat the initial records and to further your PB times.

Enjoy! Happy dribbling!
