Yeah, once you've been glitch hunting a while certain mechanics just stick out to you. It's cool seeing this game get some more skips and runs.
Does anyone have that one copypasta of the russian guy in the Dwahmov comments? It was something like "this is not speed run. this is glitch" etc you get the point
I found some as well (including the level 3 skips, that I didn't know were discovered already). I got footage of skipping the final puzzle of level 3, but it's still far form viable in RTA.
I think all cells + all missions would work best.
Any% with (x skip) is redundant. Any% will always be the fastest route, so we would instead create a new category called Any% No LTS.
Probably the final entry, and this one's just a theory.
In the reactor mission, since you can use the bubble but not the jetpack, you can't do the IFG. However, when you fall from a high distance Jimmy still uses the jetpack to slow his fall. I've done the IFG like this in other situations, however, when testing for this level I never fell from a high enough location that you start rising before you touch the ground (the reason I didn't want to test from higher is that this level has no checkpoints and getting to that point in the first place was a pain in the ass).
If you use Goddard to go to the entrance of the sewers while in the sewers, he'll fall out of bounds and you can fly straight to the end, possibly slower.
During the subway sewers mission, if you use the IFG you can fly through the hole in the ceiling above the tracks to get near the end of the mission, and find the part as Jimmy. If the tracks shock you then just press I twice to skip the animation.
Edit: Doing this method as Goddard is probably faster since you need to backtrack as Jimmy.
Using Goddard while in the flying state also sends you directly to the ground. Possibly useful for clipping getting through barriers while OOB. Also, since Goddard follows you while flying, you can use the IFG (infinite flight glitch) to get him to high places.
When I approached Jimmy's dad for the tool chest key, the cutscene started and Jimmy started moving backwards during it. Would be useful if we couldn't skip cutscenes, but can probably still be useful since it's likely just a collision with dad's hitbox.
If you use the baseball bat and hold the back arrowkey, the camera starts zooming out, and after a few seconds goes underground, even when you change loading zones. Likely useless, but notable since some games use the camera to determine if things load in or not. To get out of this state just load a save.
Well, I found a flight glitch for this game, and it's even better than the one for NvN.
To perform it, you just need to use the jetpack, and whilst flying, use the bubble. You'll start flying up infinitely, and if you want to get down, just get out of the bubble and use the right click to use the jetpack.
Also, if you open the sewer gate in the lab, stand where it was, and wait for it to close, you get pushed into the ground, and then if you use the bubble you go out of bounds.
Almost forgot 2 things:
Firstly, the reason I hadn't done this sooner is that the game doesn't work on windows 10. As a workaround, I recently installed virtualbox to run windows 7 and run the game from there. Not wanting to go overboard and overwork my PC, I used the default settings for allocated CPU, RAM, and memory, which turned out to be pretty low. As an effect of this, the game runs at a pretty low framerate, I'd say around 15, which may be the cause of some glitches. HOWEVER, this does not mean that they would be useless for speedruns, as there are ways to manually limit a game's framerate.
The other thing I forgot to mention is another glitch. In Jimmy's house, when I interacted with the cookie jar, I got teleported above the house (the neighborhood being deloaded obviously), where I was standing on an invisible platform. When I walked above his parent's room, I fell into it. Not sure if I can replicate it or not because I haven't tested that.
What I've found so far:
In order to get OOB in the first room, there are 2 parts of the wall that you can walk into: the left side of the telephone box on the left, or the right back corner of the one on the right. After I got the jetpack, I thought I'd be able to get into the room on the left very easily, however you can't get OOB while flying on the jetpack, and if you start using the jetpack while falling it's too late to get into the other room. I was able to almost get to the other room once by clipping just as I started to use the jetpack, so that's still a possibility.
Much like in Neutron vs Negatron, if you pause and then unpause (pressing I twice for optimal speed) while climbing something, you'll get to the top. This implies that it works in the same way it did in NvN, where you could end many animations by pausing and unpausing, which could lead to a skip like it did in the first level of NvN.
The save and load system seems to work in the same way it does in NvN, so we might get a flight glitch or another glitched state like in NvN.
I just finished the 3rd objective as of typing this, so I'm barely into the game, so there's likely a lot more to come.
Hey guys, I'm the guy who broke Neutron vs Negatron, and I just got this game. I start the game and I've been playing for less than a minute and I've already found an OOB. Let's hope I can break this one too.
