Livesplit can't be on top of the game if it's in full screen mode, it's possible only on borderess full screen. When you record the game it will be shown on OBS as long as the livesplit window is on top of everything in that program. If you really wanna see the timer your best bet is either get the second monitor or just set up sounds for getting or losing time in certain situation (behind or ahead of your PB, as well as golds).

If you are talking about BXT Launcher then it's only for native linux version. To launch WON version you need wine. You have to launch window's version of steam through wine, after that you just click on bat file and should be working. If you don't see or hear anything try installing 32-bit libraries for sound audio, I don't remember which exactly. Hope it helps.

If you want to speedrun this game I recommend you check the resources tab and download either goldsource package or 2005 WON version which comes with BXT and it has all features such as proper demo recording. And no, bxt doesn't work on 25th anniversary version. Either way I recommend you try those other versions of hl1.

Unfortunately, you can't really remove it. You can use RInput injection but if you do your GUI menus (like code panels) will stop working properly. This is basically a bug with hl1 and its mods. If only this game was build on a slightly newer gldsource engine you could use m_rawinput bind to enable/disable it or maybe even there would be no bug like this but it's your life now.
