By suggesting these changes I want to make some things clearer and anticipate some common questions. And to encourage people to find new cool skips and routes indeed!

Rules suggestions:

- Remove SCP-008 requirement from SS / RS Inbounds runs

Since these categories also known as Any% Inbounds, I'd prefer to see as few as possible restrictions. Let's allow people submit any seeds with weird map generator issues!

- Introduce strict definition for "Out of Bounds"

That goes for "The use of the out of bounds glitch is not allowed" rule. As I know, at this moment we have different interpretations for this rule by different moderators, so I'd prefer to see strict definition to have a clear understanding what exactly I can't do in speedruns. I am basically OK with common definition "OoB means places that player can't reach by intended gameplay", but I have some concerns about definition "Player can see the void" because the game is buggy af and simple loading in doorway can send player straight into nothing (so, speedrunning the game as intended has a potential risk to get rejected).

- Explicit autosplitter requirement for LRT estimation

This one is to prevent common rookie mistake to upload first run (with decent run time probably) without using autosplitter, especially with large amount of save/loads. When I uploaded my first run I had no idea, how I should calculate LRT and got kinda frustrated when my run was retimed to RTA. So I think ruleset must contain a paragraph about LRT and autosplitters to prevent those situations.

Categories suggestions:

- Separate categories by difficulty

RS Keter% is growing popularity. Since Keter runs are totally different from Safe runs, I want to see individual leaderboard for Keter difficulty because player can't have both Safe and Keter PBs in one leaderboard.

- New category extension: No SCP-914

This category will be totally different from common speedrun categories. Heavy stamina control, warping to HCZ through sinkhole, using new shla skips and gaining stamina drinks from SCP-294.

As mods say they can add it if enough people are interested. As for me I'm ready to submit my first no SCP-914 run.

- New category extension: Console%

Slight issue with removing 008. Set seed i can understand having it but it makes RS a living nightmare with how few good seeds there are that dont have 008. it make getting wrs a living nightmare and demotivating to do at that point due to the extreme rng you need for no 008 to begin with. My personal opinion on it, coming from a RS runner themself

Generally speaking, if the player touches the void and uses it to their advantage it's considered OoB. That should be part of the definition, with the other part being places the player can't reach with intended gameplay. For example, if you see or touch the void briefly, such as when you're loading, and you can't use it to your advantage by going to inaccessible places, then it shouldn't count. If you touch the void and use it to your advantage (such as skipping EZ via the side room) then it should count.

I agree with everything in this except removing the 008 for the random seed runs(like skye said)

Edited:I changed my mind with the 008 thing,lets allow everything,having a seed that doesnt have 008 is very rare and it would probably take more time to figure that there is no 008 anyways lol

Also i highly agree with changing categories by difficulty(including %100 if somebody actually finishes a run) and the strict definiton for Out of bounds

This stuff'll be discussed once Multi and I get around to reviewing the applications together (hopefully today if neither of us forget.) 008 and OoB rules will most likely be held to a community vote. I don't really understand why 008 was originally banned in the category, as skipping 008 doesn't go OoB. There is enough different between legacy and modern for that not to matter. But, I've heard very mixed consensus on the 008 ban, so that 100% should be left to a community vote.

Now that I have the ability to edit rules, the game rules have been updated to reflect RTA/LRT time requirements.

I'm generally against clogging the main boards with more categories and variables that like 2-3 people will run. You can just filter runs for difficulty and you'll see what the WR is. I'll ping Shadow about adding categories to the CE's and if I have the jurisdiction to do so.

I see, SCP-008 requirement is kinda controversial, but I still think this requirement is unnecessary. If you want to get decent run time you need a lucky seed with straightforward route between Security room and Electrical center with SCP-008 room along the way (which is equally rare as SCP-008 absence). As for SCP-008 recontainment duration, this action takes less than 10 seconds (for the most of the runs this difference is easily mitigated by unlucky Omni rolls).

removing the 008 requirement from SS runs they would be incredibly boring. It would just be

1. get lvl 1 and 2

2. upgrade lvl 2 to lvl 3 in 914

3. grab 1499

4. use the 1499 glitch to talk to 079 and complete the game.

SS would essentially become any% (no warp) but without OoB.

if you don't know about the 1499 glitch its a bug that was possible before the 1499 rework (i think that was 1.3.11 or 1.3.10 don't exactly remember) where you can pass trough doors and it's not considered OoB. You can see it in action at 20:50 in this video:

sometime 1499 bug runs will be their own category runs since it only works on older versions. then 008 requirement rule will most likely be lifted
