nope! as long as its an fps thats now natively accessible in roblox its allowed
yeah we should make that
yeah im literally so confused and i dont know what to do with the runs i think we should just. deny them but idk
@xorvere ratio (i literally have no idea what to do with most of the runs)
this only applies to accessories you can only temporarily get or you have to pay for (anything under the hair or accessories section)
yeah you can wear whatever shirts
@TypicalType5 i mean hats that like, are only available for a certain amount of time becuase of an event or the sorts
basically, i have recently discovered that jtoh has hat weight - which means that the hats you wear have weight (as the name implies).
now - what does hat weight do? it affects factors such as jump height, and momentum from flings, to a very significant amount. not only this, but hats also have hitboxes, meaning that you'll be able to touch a winpad or a button from further away than someone without said hat.
hat weight applies to every accessory on roblox, all with their own unique hat weight - with some accessories, such as the back accessory based on flandre scarlet, having an incredibly high hat weight (~140, in comparison to the average hat weight which is around 3-4).
so what is the new rule?
well, we're (for now) banning using any non-free and non-permanently-available accessories - so that means no accessories (and hairs!) you can buy with robux, and none that you have to acquire through an event, or are only temporarily buyable.
and i know what you're thinking - "this is such a stupid rule", i understand. but this has been problems for other games on this site too, take adventure forward 2 for an example, they already are and have been banning people from using non-free and non-permanently-available accessories.
now, what are we going to do about all the runs currently on the leaderboard? we're keeping all the currently on-the-leaderboard runs on the leaderboard, for the sole reason that we understand how controversial this rule will be, it won't affect already on-the-leaderboard runs, either just for now, or they'll be moved to an archival category so that the leaderboards don't experience a complete and utter wipe.
and, understanding that if the community wasn't prepared for this it'll cause a massive amount of chaos, i ran a poll. and it was a 23-18 yes/no (and call this biased, but the majority of people i noticed speedrun actively in more games than just jtoh, had a very clear leaning towards yes).
all runs that are currently in the queue that don't follow this new rule won't be accepted nor denied, and we're not quite sure what to do with the runs that use reset jump, considering it's half based on the accessories you used. but, we do expect that until hat weight gets fixed, and reset jump gets patched (which can be fixed by manually spawning in the player instead of using the built-in respawn), this rule will be enforced on all runs submitted forward.
bro do not necropost
just to let you know ill be back to fully verifying by early july as then ill be both done with my exams and back from the festival im going to to celebrate
theres a slight chance ill end up being less active than id imagine since im considering getting a summer job but that wont affect verifying for the most part
patched glitches are glitches that were patched by roblox / jtoh devs, eg laugh/corner clips
just to let yall know im going on a hiatus for anywhere between 2-4 months because my GCSEs are less than a month away and im very much prioritising them over literally anything else, so expect me to verify little to no runs until say, september 👍
yeah probably shouldve specified, i meant runs that are considered "very hard to beat"
