fwiw i want to keep important stuff from being Only On Discord, hence the guides i've made, though i could do more general-knowledge stuff i suppose, just haven't gotten to it. not everyone likes or uses Discord and its search functionality is pretty trash honestly

we're considering making a dedicated speedrun discord at some point, though some have expressed that they'd rather stick to the official discord. i want to make one eventually, i just don't feel like it's necessary yet
a video demonstrating it is in the guide i just wrote. it also would not be necessary to kill the enemies in the "in-between" areas
actually, i'd like to get people's opinions on early gate tricks for no skip runs. here's a strawpoll:
i think we could create a "no skips" category. however, i think early arena 1 would probably still be allowed since it saves only like 2-4 seconds and could be done accidentally (which is how it was discovered anyway)
(speaking of which i need to make a little guide for early arena 1 lol)
Update: This is fast. Can't say for sure just how fast it can be, but I got a 3 second gold the first time I tried it in a run. If you get the pitcher perk while waiting for the boss door to open, I imagine you wouldn't lose any time to getting the perk, since you're just waiting there anyway.
This might have time save potential. Important to note that you cannot drop down before both explosions finish. If you do, and the mother's shield is up, it won't do damage. You might be able to time it so that you can drop down and have it open up in time for the second explosion to hit, though.
Also good to practice the throw, as it's a bit difficult.
