Because all bosses route needs to reset game more times, and resetting time differs between Japan and US version(that of US version is a bit longer). Calculating in game time instead can avoid disadvantages for those who reset game many times playing US version and provide advantages for routes resetting more times. That's why I would like to think adding in game time category as a good proposal.

Some other Castlevania games have included "in-game time" category. And the saved files will also record in-game time after beating the final boss. I suspect doing that is good.
